👉Last week in the markets: What moved prices? 1. AI stocks under pressure Meta fell 7% despite 26% revenue growth, while Tesla lost 3% and the Nasdaq dropped 2.6% on Thursday. Investors are increasingly concerned about massive AI spending and whether these investments will generate real profits. 2. Oil surges above $116 Brent crude gained around 6% over the week as attacks in Saudi Arabia raised concerns about oil supplies. 📊 Gold Under Pressure, a Stronger Dollar, and the Fed in the Spotlight! Last week brought plenty of volatility to the forex markets. What were the biggest market movers? 👇 👉Gold (XAU/USD) fell to a two-month low on Wednesday but managed to recover much of its losses by the end of the week. The fluctuations were mainly driven by a stronger US dollar and high US Treasury yields. The US dollar continued to strengthen, supported by high bond yields, geopolitical uncertainty, and expectations surrounding the Fed's next moves. The Fed signaled that another interest rate hike could come before the end of the year. Inflation remains the main concern, with high energy prices continuing to fuel price pressures. 👉What to Watch This Week? All eyes will be on Wednesday's US Consumer Price Index (CPI) report and Thursday's Producer Price Index (PPI) data. These releases could significantly influence the direction of the USD, EUR/USD, and gold (XAU/USD).
