A busy few days for @rectripp and me, including being interviewed by the young people of Forest Gate Youth Zone and some Essex Street #labourdoorstep. 🔌: The police are still offering free bike marking and advice until 4PM outside Number 8!

Today Rachel and I welcomed Abi Gbago, Newham Council’s CEO, to a walkabout all across Forest Gate North. We talked about what we’re proudest of as well as our biggest challenges, and how officers and local politicians can work together for residents 🤝

Forest Gate North in Parliament 🕰️ Was great to meet with our MP @Uma_Kumaran and team last night, to check in on joint casework and representing FGN at the national level. Coming away with lots of plans 👷‍♀️

After 12 years, the @LondonLegacy Planning Decisions Committee held its last 5-hour meeting! It’s been a privilege to help shape the QEII Park and surrounding areas over my 5 years. Exciting challenges await when planning powers return to the boroughs in December!

My youngest, despite my efforts, ate almost no protein at all that I was aware of for at least 2 years, with no discernible impact on her growth or health (um, so far…!!). Hang in there. These small people are sent to try us.

Please see these upcoming men's mental health workshops at The Gate Library from Br8ke the Silence, this Black History Month. They're doing such important work bringing men in our community together to connect and share their experiences 🧠 eventbrite.com/e/br8ke-the-s…

I came on to say **exactly** this. I don’t know why the word ‘utilise’ winds me up so much but it is infuriating to me. The word ‘use’ is right there.

Volunteers are our life-blood. We could not do anything without you! If you want to help but don't know where to start spend the morning with us at our new building on Thursday September 5th (10 til 12) - and find out how you can be part of the Magpie Project Magic.
Thinking of switching things up in September? Our volunteers tell us that they love to be a part of the close-knit community we have built, and helping to make a change for good in the world.. Come find out what it's all about on September 5th at The Grassroots Centre, E15 3DB.

Thank you to Shia Mosque & Minhaj ul Quran mosque for a poignant Interfaith meeting. Local faith groups, Borough Commander & elected reps - came together to remember victims of the Southport tragedy and address the recent racist & Islamaphobic riots. We’ll always stand together

Replying to @MarianneLevy
It was mistakenly on my mental ‘should but probably will be worthy and hard going’ list and I have never been more wrong, I **raced** through it.

I just read ‘the immortal life of Henrietta lacks’ which had been on my shelf for years, which I mistakenly thought would be good but worthy so had been putting off. Wrong. It was good and important but brilliantly written and a rip roaringly good read too.

Hey twitter-friends (X-friends?). Does anybody know anybody who is an expert in broadband? We have a new building/broadband question which we are in no way qualified to tackle. Anyone got 20 minutes for a phone call to explain it all to us and talk through solutions?
