KDIGO invites the global kidney community to review the draft and share feedback to help inform and improve the final update. Revisión imprescindible en @DiabetologiaJnl sobre el hígado en diabetes (Yki-Järvinen & Roden). 1/ FIB4>1,3 en ~40% de las personas con DM2. Si todas pasaran a elastografía, el sistema no aguanta. Y aun así se escapa un 36% de las fibrosis avanzadas 2/ La prevalencia real de fibrosis avanzada en DM2 es <5%, >80% de quienes tienen MASLD sin cirrosis mueren por causas NO hepáticas, sobre todo cardiovasculares 🫀 3/ No toda la MASLD es igual: la variante PNPLA3 I148M aumenta el riesgo hepático pero se asocia a menor riesgo CV. 4/ Objetivo del cribado: no solo para derivar, sino identificar a quien más se beneficia de un abordaje metabólico intensivo. 🔗 doi.org/10.1007/s00125-026-0…

Does tirzepatide work as well if you've already lost weight? The real-world data is nuanced. 📢 Retrospective cohort (Obesity journal, 2026): n=293 real-world tirzepatide patients, 6-month outcomes by prior weight-loss status. 📉 Prior weight-reduced (≥10% TBW lost before tirzepatide): 7.2% further TBW loss 🟢 Not previously weight-reduced: 10.3% TBW loss, significantly better (p<0.001) ⚖️ Semaglutide switchers: overall 5.3% TBW, thos who lost but plateau → 8.1% vs non-responder to sema → 2.9% weight loss w/ Tirzepatide (p<0.001) 📋 65% female; mean age 52; mean BMI 36 Tirzepatide still delivers meaningful weight loss in most groups; but setting the right expectations matters.
