🎖STORY OF A HERO! Just got back from the location of the massacre. The Nova Festival, now known around the world as a tragedy that will never be forgotten. My good friend [who I shall leave nameless for now] is the main organizer. Today as I learned more with very little words, I realized that I was in the presence of a true hero. The hero you read about in the newspapers, or watch on the big screen at movie theaters. If it wasn't for him, hundreds more would have lost their lives on Saturday. You speak to him, and you wouldn't even know he just went through one of the most horrific events in history. Any other human, any other organizer would have ran for saftey together with the crowd and no one would blame them. Not him. He's that hero you hear about in war stories for generations. While everyone ran for their life, he stayed, he rescued people while bullets and missiles and grenades came from every direction. When he finally got a hold of a weapon, he fully engaged the evil hell that was released on this festival. There wasn't a moment in which he wasn't in danger. They were everywhere, fully armed, magazines for days and blood in their eyes. They left nothing alive in their wake. Anyone on the floor that was injured, they stood a-top of them and executed with one to the head. Bodies of young men & woman were scattered as far as the eye can see. As he engaged, together with a few other brave souls they managed to take out about 20 Hamas terrorists. It was a long battle that started at sunrise and by 18:00 he put out a video message on a whatsapp group "we've secured the perimeter, we took out many of those m*ther fckers, the area is clear". A message that still gives goosebumps to anyone who watches it 6 days on. But it was just the beginning. For the next 5 days under intense security threat he returned every morning until dawn to find survivors, dead friends and co-workers. He had to try and identify the bodies that were unrecognizable due to mutilation, butchering of faces or burned bodies to a crisp. 6 days in [today], I couldn't get more than a sentence in, before his phone rang again, hundreds of messages, parents looking for their loved ones, wives for husbands, children wanting to know about the whereabouts of their parents. He answers every call calmly and professionally. Many of the families that are calling, he knows personally. His friends, their kids, are lying somewhere unrecognizable without DNA samples or maybe kidnapped. "I had to fight, I had to rescue the injured, I had to locate bodies that were hiding and I'm the one who needs to update the parents?" "Where are the people responsible for this job? It's been 6 fcken days" He was asking me cynically, rhetorically. There is no one to do this job. We’re at war. As I walked with him through the devastation and sheer size of the "crime scene" I understood that if it wasn't for him, most of the bodies that weren't obvious to the eye, would still be there rotting away, with grieving families and friends still begging the authorities for answers they never had. They're in war, no time for search and rescue. No time for answering questions they have no answers to. I've never met a hero before. Im proud to say, this real life hero is my friend. Soon I will release videos of the atrocities at the festival. First we have some funerals to attend.
