I want to see how engineering managers, junior engineers, and senior engineers use an agent to solve problems. But for staff+ engineers, I still want to see system design and how they debug when paged into an incident for a service they’ve never seen before.
It’s hard to see anything else happening but coding interviews going away. This won’t mean that technical ability won’t be interviewed: but it interviews will be less predictable, more subjective and harder to prep for than the near-universally-disliked DSA interviews.

You can take the cli & terminal muxer from my cold bloody hand. Also, these opaque, proprietary gui suck. Using different models mean switching across tools, which is not nice. Most of thr OSS guis by internet celebs are utter slop. Nothing against the idea of using guis tho.
Did you hear: if you use a coding agent in a terminal yngmi

AI bros discover co-routines 40 years later 😭
AWS just open-sourced a runtime that can fit 75,000 concurrent AI agents in 8GB of RAM. the trick is that agents don’t sit around consuming resources while waiting for tools to finish. the runtime saves their state, suspends them, and resumes them when something happens. 75,000 agents. raspberry pi 5 memory. that number is kinda ridiculous.

Not at all. 4 years is very short. Social media glorifies shipping speed but real, durable ideas all take a decade or more. Very few quick wins that aren't just flash in the pan. Dig in deep and expect the good ideas to be full time work for a long, long time.

Latest updates on Rex beta rollout: - I'll have a formal update next week (blog post). - We've invited 12,000 more this week. - We've fully opened iOS testing to everyone invited - Server (Linux + FreeBSD) testing is up to ~2,000 and we're going to open that up to everyone invited soon. - We're just shy of 50% through out full waitlist, but we're now inviting thousands every day and growing and this should clear quickly.

Munich Database Meetup night. Just had a conversation about technology that lasted over an hour and at no point were LLMs a subject. Relieved there are still people who know what they’re doing.

Inspired by oxcaml's zero_alloc, I've been working on a tool to help clamp down on heap allocations in Golang. github.com/theconsensuslabs/…

that's awesome. would be nice if vscode would follow suit as well.
JetBrains IDEs are now powered by libghostty! This brings huge feature and performance improvements to JB terminals! Based on their own annual reports, that's over 12.5 million active users across all platforms about to get a libghostty-powered terminal. blog.jetbrains.com/platform/… I'll repeat myself: libghostty is and was always the primary goal of the Ghostty project (I said this in the first public talk I ever gave about Ghostty). The importance and impact of a free, liberally licensed, high quality terminal emulator library that runs anywhere and everywhere dwarfs any single terminal emulator application on its own. I've estimated Ghostty's (GUI, not libghostty) own users at around a couple million. Overnight, 6x that are using a libghostty-powered terminal. From one integration. Happy to see this, happy to hear JetBrains had a positive experience, and looking forward to continuing to improve and ship a stable libghostty tag soon!

Rex by @superlogical has been great so far. But hyping it up publicly while keeping the beta invite-only is probably not a good idea. Not against a private beta, but what is the point of sharing if people can't try them out? Maybe dialing back the publicity a bit would be cool.

I am so tired of seeing the constant stream of Rust topics in my timeline. It's an ugly language. If it's supposed to be the future, count me out.
