Maybe? Would love to see the breakdown. If we are talking goals then we have to only talk home runs right? Do you look at goals per shots? Then you have to look at home runs per swings, not at bats. Maybe someone smarter than me can do the breakdown to see where it averages out haha

Pitchers are in control of everything, the data, analytics, slow mo cams, technology is exponentially more resourceful for them because the ball is in their hand. The only variable they have is whether the mound is good or not. They don’t have to adjust to timing issues, they get to create them. And it does seem they are all throwing harder than ever. Argue about the radar guns all you want. Collectively, they all feel like Nolan Ryan or Troy Percival in the box these days. Also, there so many pitchers now, guys are facing like 200 plus (this is a guess) different pitchers a year. That’s crazy hahah

Unless you say skating backwards on ice and timing up a one-timer slap shot, I’m not sure what is even close. And even in that skill if you miss you don’t walk back to the bench and wait an hour til your next chance.

If a hitter has a steep path, he might need to feel like he is swinging up to match pitch plane. If a hitter is “collapsing the back side” (old school terminology) he might need to think and feel like he is swinging down to get on plane! There isn’t one path, name of the game is to match plane and create room for error.

I don’t have all the answers but I love baseball because of the ups and downs and constant grind. So here’s some thoughts for the “X hitting” war that is going on right now.

I came to the @torosdetijuana because I knew there was more in the tank, but the goal was never to just play. It was always to win, to bring another championship to Tijuana! And the boys accomplished that! This was such a great group of guys, and not everyone who was a part of it got to hold that trophy, but we couldn’t have done it without them either. We will be bonded together forever in this championship!! From the second I drove across the border in TJ for the first time, I have loved every moment. The fans, the food, the stadiums, and the baseball. This is definitely a summer to remember and I cant thank my family enough for always being down for a new adventure! Vamos Toros! Vamos Campeons! 🐂 ⚾️
