Key pointers on the book of revelation:
1. When you get past the mystery, it's quite a fun read
2. It's a lot of dramatization- Everyone knows their role beforehand
3. The 24 elders & 4 beasts are the pre-tribulation church
4. The 7 churches addressed are end time churches
I've always wanted to help, so I'm always stepping in.
And even when I write, I mostly do it for others.
But these notes, I make them for me.
Whenever I look at them, I can track
what's happening within me.
Whenever people say Africa is not for beginners, we laugh because it's hard, sometimes fun and relatable stuff.
But when you really think about it, it seems like being African is a difficulty level on some challenge. Whether we chose it or we had to, remains to be discovered.
Ever noticed how Adam and Eve's solution to cover up their 'newly discovered nakedness' with leaves was insufficient in God's eyes. They had to be covered up with more, it had to be blood. That goes to show the existence of spiritual nakedness.
God says nothing about offerings to Adam or Eve. Yet we see it as a requirement for Cain and Abel. Something must've definitely happened inbetween, most likely another set of instructions for a relationship to be maintained between God and mankind.
Note to self: New questions add to the truth I already know. They come to refine my understanding. They don't negate it.
So the good Samaritan is actually Jesus' definition of who your true neighbour is- someone who shows you mercy, not the person living close or closest to you. And in fact we're supposed to be THAT neighbour, not to expect to be helped by one.
Recent discovery: Hope is supposed to be a mindset.
By default you're supposed to be hopeful, so that when something goes against that hope, you question it.
You're not supposed to strive for hope, but to question things that don't work out according to the mindset of hope.
I learnt recently since it's the angels that brought makeup knowledge to humans, that means there's makeup in heaven.
Therefore, weird restrictions on outfits from cult like churches is very unnecessary. Modest decency is enough. Beauty is a godly character 馃槃
Someone who has tried really hard and failed at something can also give up because they actually know how much effort it takes to build and that failure could make them feel like they don't have it in them to go through that building process, again. Don't be too quick to judge.
It's not necessarily the reality of starting small that worries someone who has an idea. It's often the possibility of staying small, because then your big effort has little fruits.
So we need support/advantages that produce momentum, like innovative ideas for value addition.
Sometimes seeking to understand certain things may seem so pointless and irrelevant to a currently pressing situation, until random dots start connecting together in an amazing way.
So the first resurrection happened in the garden of Eden, when God breathed man into the body. The body was lifeless before man made it a living soul.
The gap theory suggest that the reason the creation story in Gen 1 starts with a world that was void and had no form is because of a judgement that had caused a universal flood. What followed was rebuilding. Noah's flood wasn't the first flood.
What's convenient is not always what's easy.
It's the search and desire for convenience that sometimes drives people to do really hard things.
Not so long ago I'd wonder about where The Father, the Holy Spirit and the Son start and end. I thought that by trying to separate them I'd be able to better understand the Godhead. But, Jesus is all three, so knowing him is knowing them all.
It's not enough to know the truth, it also has to help you figure out a way out of your predicament.
That makes understanding power itself.
Me to myself: Always have a little project going on. Don't ever be ashamed of having a little project that seems like it's going no where. A little project is only LITTLE for a short time. No one starts building at the sky level, but at the foundation. Things grow. Inevitably.
One of the reasons I find the Bible fascinating is the fact that it has no contradictions. Yet, there are many things that seem to say the exact opposite of each other. But such instances are an invitation to investigate further. They are designed to highlight your areas of...
