A retired employee of KEM hospital, Mumbai, passed away in January. The family, from a marginalised background, completed all formalities, informed the BMC, returned the excess pension credited to his account and requested that family pension be sanctioned to his wife as per the applicable rules. It has been 9 Months now and they are still running between KEM hospital and @mybmc Headquarters because staff at KEM has 'no time' to process the file. The man, and even his mother, dedicated their entire life in service at KEM hospital. India's top Orthos from KEM, knew this man well for his honesty and hard work. But the current officials at KEM have just been holding on to the file. @CMOMaharashtra , @AshwiniBhide No family should have to go through this because of few people who do not wish to move files.

A rant on “demand to remove Gyanesh Kumar”. Let us begin with one elementary question for everyone demanding Gyanesh Kumar’s resignation: WHO EXACTLY ARE YOU? The PM? The Union Cabinet? The HM? None of them can simply order the Chief Election Commissioner to vacate his office. The CEC is not a government employee who can be dismissed because a political party has taken its grievances to the streets. Article 324(5) of the Constitution protects the CEC against arbitrary removal. His removal must follow the same procedure and grounds applicable to a Supreme Court judge. Here is how the process actually works: A) Initiate a parliamentary motion. At least 100 Lok Sabha MPs or 50 Rajya Sabha MPs must sign a removal motion. B) Secure admission. The Speaker or Chairman decides whether to admit the motion. C) Investigate the charges. If admitted, a three-member committee examines the allegations under the Judges (Inquiry) Act, 1968. D) Secure a special majority. Both Houses must pass the motion by a majority of their total membership and a two-thirds majority of members present and voting. E) Obtain the President’s removal order. Only after the constitutionally prescribed parliamentary process has been completed can the President formally remove the CEC. Alternatively, Gyanesh Kumar can voluntarily resign by submitting his resignation to the President. Now, tell me: what exactly is a street protest supposed to achieve if the demand is that the government simply sack him? If you believe there are grounds for his removal, follow the constitutional procedure. Convince MPs. Present evidence. Build the case. Secure the required majorities. That is how a constitutional democracy works. And the most astonishing part? It is not merely political activists who appear to be missing this elementary distinction. Even journalists, whose job is to inform citizens and hold institutions to account, are amplifying the spectacle without adequately explaining the constitutional process involved. Journalism is not stenography for political slogans. Before broadcasting demands, perhaps journalists should explain who possesses the legal authority to act on them. Before lecturing the country on constitutional morality, they should establish what the Constitution actually says. If these protesters are genuinely participating without being paid, and they do not even understand the constitutional procedure governing the office they want to challenge, then they are being spectacularly foolish. How do you claim to defend a Constitution you have not bothered to understand? And if political parties are mobilising citizens without explaining these basic facts, the question becomes even more uncomfortable: are they educating citizens about democracy, or exploiting their ignorance for political theatre? Let us be clear. Criticising Gyanesh Kumar is legitimate. Questioning the Election Commission is legitimate. Demanding transparency and accountability is legitimate. But the Constitution provides a process for removing the CEC. A street ultimatum cannot replace it. And the right to protest is not a licence for violence. Where there are evidence from past for these protestors of attempting to breach barricades, get in clashes or incitement to violence, the police are entitled to take lawful preventive action. The previous protest’s conduct must be judged on evidence, and every police action must satisfy the applicable law. Nobody gets a free pass merely by attaching a political slogan to unlawful conduct. Democracy is not mob rule. Constitutional accountability is not street coercion. And journalism is not the art of amplifying ignorance. The Constitution is not protected by shouting its name. It is protected by understanding it, respecting its procedures and refusing to let political convenience override the law. If you are marching to save the Constitution, start by reading it. And if you are reporting on that march, start by explaining it.

Replying to @elonmusk
@elonmusk, dear, because I greatly respect you, let me say this. Cozying up to the likes of @RahulGandhi will not escalate a Starlink license. But further delay it. Companies all over the world successfully do business with India. As you know, foreign partnership starts with respect for the country and its leadership. Rahul lacks respect for both his own country and PM Modi. He is bad company. And “the other guy” is one of the greatest and most powerful leaders in the world today and will be governing India a long time. You want a license? I suggest shifting your public messages to the attention of PM @narendramodi and not wannabees like Rahul. Congrats on your award today, BTW. Thank you for all your contributions to our great country. 🇺🇸
Thank you, Rahul. This is indeed troubling.

Action plan discussed with Mr. Kiran Dighavkar •Policy-level change for societies and slums across Mumbai, with regards to Solid Waste management •Strict enforcement. On-site processing for societies, and a levy a fine where they do not comply. For slums, community bins, fixed collection, and enforcement, including penalties so the waste does not spill over. •Illegal dumping of construction and demolition waste across Mumbai by contractors. •Garbage Vulnerable Points, including Dr. Ambedkar Road at Pali Hill, a chronic spot outside Bloom / Hotel Executive Enclave, and waste issues on Forjet Street. Dumping under the Mrinal Tai Gore Flyover was also raised. •Dirt and garbage from illegal shops on footpaths, and heavy waste from hawkers and shops at Dadar and Mahim west, including the flower and vegetable markets. •Poor compliance on dry waste, and weak awareness around the dry waste vehicles in every ward. •Illegal dumping of debris and waste on beaches and in mangroves. •Dust from construction sites, uncovered dump trucks, and no water sprinkling on transit roads. •Organising health camps for BMC sanitation workers across the city.

A surprise visit, without any staff, was conducted today by Mr. @DighavkarKiran, Deputy Commissioner, Solid Waste Management, @mybmc, after we flagged issues at a Garbage Vulnerable Point in Khar’s Pali Hill area. We also convened a joint meeting of Mr Dighavkar with members and representatives of citizen forums from across Mumbai. This coffee meet was to understand city's solid waste challenges and solution and from Mr Dighavkar. He took time and explained citizens about various policies, execution and current works taken up by BMC. Citizens shared issues about their area and explained on various, on-ground bottlenecks in handling Solid waste across different wards. Mr. Dighavkar has assured proactive enforcement, including strict legal action against illegal dumping of construction and demolition debris across the city. We hope more officers from @mybmc come forward and meet citizens for a collaborative solution on various issues in Mumbai.

Paan shops selling everything but paan were wiped off in Mumbai. Good to hear that @AshwiniBhide ma’am. Next is banning sale of cigarettes on quick commerce platforms!! Who will drive this? @MoHFW_INDIA Ease of availability of tobacco products is the reason for rise in consumption amongst teens and young adults. Vapes, a banned product is easily available through networks, but authorities are oblivious

Rahul Gandhi keeps shedding crocodile tears over NEET, but the CBI has now arrested Congress-linked Shivraj Motegaonkar of Latur — exposing the real face of the paper leak racket. Leaked questions were allegedly found on his phone dated April 23, 10 days before the exam, and 42 questions from his mock test matched the actual NEET paper. This was not an accident — it was a well-planned inside job. While Congress plays the victim on TV, their own ecosystem stands exposed in the scam. Millions of students were cheated, and now the hypocrites are scrambling to hide behind noise and drama.

“I expected this from you, Maa” Those were my son’s words. “How come you aren’t posting about what happened with the students at Jantar Mantar? I thought you’d be the first one to speak.” For a moment, I smiled. Somewhere along the way, my children have started believing that their mother is a protest leader. I’m not. I simply believe in standing up for what is right. But “right” is not decided by what’s trending. Or by the loudest hashtag. Or by the reel that reached me first. It is decided after I have read. Listened. Questioned. Changed my mind if I needed to. That conversation made me think about parenting more than it made me think about the protest. I don’t aspire to be the “cool Gen Z parent” who proudly says, “My children always win arguments.” No. Some arguments, I will happily lose.Others, I will fight till the very end. Because parenting isn’t about winning debates. It’s about shaping judgment. If tomorrow my child tells me smoking is his choice, I’ll say no. If he wants to protest, I’ll ask him something even more difficult: “Tell me why.” Not because a creator told you. Not because your friends are going. Not because everyone on your feed seems convinced. Tell me after you’ve understood every side. Tell me after you’ve questioned the narrative including the one you agree with. And when you do choose to stand for something… Stand with conviction. Stand with facts. Stand with respect, even for the people you’re standing against. Because if your values disappear the moment you disagree with someone, then they weren’t values. They were emotions. I’m not against young people raising their voices. I’m against a world that teaches them to react faster than they think. As parents, we still have the responsibility and the courage to slow them down. Not to silence them. But to make sure that when they finally speak… They’re speaking with a mind of their own.

As a woman, it hurts to see this behavior. We talk about dignity, feminism, womanhood but resorting to foul abuse and then playing the victim card ruins our credibility. If you disagree with me and tagging me in defense of this, show the videos of these girls, swearing to your own mothers and sisters ,daughter first…Disagree politically all you want, but don't excuse vulgarity under the guise of victimhood….

18 women in Nagpur, Maharashtra complained about kidney problems to their doctors in the span of two years. Doctors saw a pattern and checked that all of them were using this pakistani cream sold by many Instagram pages and meesho. FDA Maharashtra took the cream samples. Sent to lab and found out that it has 752x mercury present in it above the legal limits. yes, 752x. Yes, This mercury (poison in this case) can make you goree in 15 days because it blocks the cell that makes melanin. But in reality thats a chemical damage that looks like fairness. And guess what, our skin absorbs mercury and keeps getting deposited in kidney all the time. I know you might not be using this cream or meesho, but please check around, especially with your house help and your family members back in hometown, if they are using this cream, please ask them to throw it RIGHT AWAY!!!
