Watching RobinHood CEO Vlad Tenev on CNN - great PR for them - something got bleeped out when he was discussing tracking politician’s trades, did anyone manage to lip read what he said?

Tale of two headlines today: 1. AGI is right around the corner (and the government is in on it) 2. Generative AI confidently makes mistakes 60% of the time on average I suppose both of those things aren't mutually exclusive. If that's the case, we are going to have AGI that is basically drunk all the time. Personally, I don't think we are anywhere close to AGI. Or if we are, it's because the standards on what precisely constitutes AGI is lowered.

Get your AI to pitch their AI
LLMs are the new front page -- so how can you "pitch" an LLM and get placed? I asked around to see what comms pros thought. Here's what I heard. 1. Articulate a unique point of view (via @adamclyde of @Notified ) 2. Answer very specific questions (via @seanomeara of @contentbrains - and sounds a lot like the timeless @TheSalesLion approach of 'answering customer questions.') 3. Basic comms principles, including traditional media, still matter (via Andrew Holland of @JBHdigitalpr) Read their ideas here: swordandthescript.com/2025/0…

Sounds like “fighting tooth and claw” media
Last week I pitched a reporter on a timely topic. I put forward a client that has written a bit on the topic and share cliff notes and links. This week, the reporter ran a story exactly on that topic and my client was not a part of it. Sometimes this happens in PR. So, what do you do? I went into my sent items, and forwarded the pitch with a polite note on the top: "Great story on XYX this week. Please keep us in mind." We shared it on socials and tagged the reporter. About half an hour later the reporter wrote back: "Sorry, I missed your email. We'll be doing a lot more on this though, so there will be other chances." They call it "earned media." But sometimes, even when you are doing all the right things, it's "luck and timing media." #PR #publicrealtions #mediarelations
