Ministers Helen McEntee & James Lawless just launched a €6.5million fund for "STEM" projects. Thats Science. Technology. Engineering. Maths.
So why is €63k being given to train hairdressers to talk about climate change?? 😂
Or
€23k to an actual flea circus

A #thread on how utterly useless @DubCityCouncil is at managing our city, in particular the public realm. No other major European city seems to get so much wrong, so often. I'm honestly not sure what Dubliners have done to deserve Councillors & a Council that are so incompetent.
Absolute prick. What a shit leader. They reacted too late to a storm with plenty of warning, are caught in an obvious lie and have the gaul to deny and dismiss it to someone obviously suffering.

The figures quoted by Simon Harris last night #LeadersDebate are misleading and selective. @SimonHarrisTD
The number “35” only refers to children waiting for spinal fusions (end 2019), ignoring those waiting for other critical spinal #scoliosis surgeries.
At our first meeting with him in 2016, we explained the different categories:
•Spinal fusion: children waiting for definitive fusion surgery.
•Spinal other: children waiting for growth rod implantation, lengthenings, or other essential procedures, often more urgent as they support growth in young children, including lung and heart development.
Despite this, Harris consistently excludes these children from waiting lists and data. These are the youngest and most vulnerable patients, requiring repeated surgeries throughout their lives. Excluding them is unacceptable.
When spinal “other” operations are included, end-of-2019 data shows 52 children waiting more than three months, as confirmed in a Parliamentary Question reply.

Simon Harris was in Kilkenny but made no effort to meet with us—the families fighting for our children’s right to timely care.
He chose not to meet.
He chose not to listen.
He chose not to engage.
Simon Harris has repeatedly ignored the voices of children and families impacted by the chaos in #scoliosis & #spinabifida care. He has refused to engage with us or @SBH_PAG. #BackUs
259 children are on a waiting list for spinal surgery in CHI.
As the election approaches, remember: Simon Harris has chosen photo ops over meaningful action and real engagement with the families he has let down.

Questions & Opinions
Is this definitely what happened?
No, this is my working assumption. I welcome all corrections and rebuttals. The Govt. want this to just go away and refuse to provide information on this. Leaving us all in the dark.
Why did the bike shed cost so much?
Arrogance, mismanagement and corruption.
Why would Micahel Stone go to such efforts to help Paschal win an election?
"Whats in it for him?" This question was never examined when the scandal broke last year.
Should Paschal Donohue Resign?
Yes.
Could this bring down the Govt?
Yes. The problem is our media have no interest in real investigative journalism anymore. Which is really. Our opposition parties need to do better.
Why am I doing this?
I am 34. I work very hard. I generate a lot of tax but I am unable to buy a home. My business should be thriving but instead is on the brink. Hell hath no fury...
What do I want?
Better politicians.

But it’s not a waste of money it is theft, €336,000 for something worth between €12,000 and €20,000 is fraud and should be treated as a crime and that’s why this happens over and over again, Until people start going to prison nothing changes.

I used to work on competitiveness data for Prof. Porter, at Harvard's Institute for... Competitiveness.
Unsurprisingly, when you remove GDP per capita and international investment (both created by same tax haven phenomena), we're one of the least competitive countries in EU. /1
Ireland is the 4th most competitive economy in the world, according to new rankings from the World Competitiveness Centre. That helps to create employment and wealth for the people of Ireland. 🇮🇪🕴️👍

Is @RTE2fm really running a cash competition (Lottie Loot) where contestants have to describe why they need the money live on air? In a cost of living crisis? Am I wrong for thinking that's absolutely tasteless?
