🇮🇸🇧🇦 Amin Ćosić (21) just spoke about his international future on Maki’s podcast.
He’s been in contact with both Iceland and BiH. It seems Iceland’s senior NT coach is pushing harder than we are, but the message from both sides was that they like his profile and that it’s just a matter of playing time before a call-up.
He said that he hasn’t made a decision yet and told the Icelandic coach that he’d rather continue playing for the U21s for now, with the EURO playoffs coming up.
He also described his own profile, which pretty much matches what I said earlier: he’s a touchline winger who prefers to stay wide and take on defenders in 1v1s. He also has exceptional top-end speed and great acceleration, plus some raw technical strengths. Gave Kumbedi a tough time.
We should be close to him because he could be the ideal LW backup, with the potential to even compete at RW thanks to his intriguing physical qualities.
There’s still a long way to go, and it’s more about the tools he can bring than some flashy ceiling. Viking know what they’re doing with young players, and you’d expect him to get more playing time in 2027. Hopefully, we’ll be ready to act when that happens.

Matteo Maric is a name worth watching (16).
The 16-year-old attacking midfielder joined Bayern Munich from Red Bull Salzburg and is already playing for their U19 side. He also represents Austria at youth international level.
There are also reports that Maric has already had the opportunity to train with Bayern’s first team at just 16, which would make his development even more interesting.
As far as I know, he also has Bosniak roots and could potentially be an option for Bosnia and Herzegovina, alongside Austria and Croatia.
Personally, I see Croatia as the bigger threat. We have seen too many players with Bosnian roots end up representing the Croatian national team. We need to follow his development closely from an early stage and give ourselves the best possible chance of keeping him on our radar for the future of our national team.
