Trump’s diminishing marginal returns
WARNING: STRONG LANGUAGE President Trump escalated his invective against Norway, calling it a ‘shit house country’ and saying Norwegian immigrants are not welcome in the United States because the Nobel committee, based in the capital Oslo, has not awarded him a Peace Prize reut.rs/3U1joSt

The transatlantic #foresight community is poorer today. Mat Burrows, a true US champion & trailblazer in the field, passed away earlier this week. I learned from him, and European foresight, including #ESPAS, benefited a lot from his contributions. RIP stimson.org/ppl/mathew-burro…

“Ukraine, not Russia, has actually held the initiative in key sectors of the frontline for much of the year and has developed a number of ways of offsetting the overall Russian manpower advantage.” Cc: @realDonaldTrump @SEPeaceMissions @SecRubio
MORE: Putin is trying once again to breathe life into the myth of inevitable Russian military victory in order to persuade the United States and other supporters of Ukraine to compel Kyiv to surrender. Putin constantly asserts that Russian forces are making gains along the entire frontline. He makes claims of territorial gains so far from reality as to be fantasy. He hearkens back to the Soviet Union and the Red Army to evoke images of Soviet hordes overrunning the German Wehrmacht. But these claims, images, and maps of supposed Russian gains are all fictional. Reality is quite the opposite.

As a leader, Zelenskyy is indeed “different”, especially from the mediocrity that wants to see him and Ukraine fail. “I am just, just human. Maybe not such big humanitarian as Putin, of course. We are different.” His & Ukraine’s courage, sacrifice and humanity are unparalleled.

Tremendously saddened to learn of the untimely death of Mat Burrows, a friend, wise counsel and sage voice in Washington’s foreign policy community. Mat elevated strategic foresight into an art form. He will be sorely missed. @JMuellerKaler stimson.org/2026/stimson-cen…

"I'll be honest. I don't sleep." President Zelenskyy says that every night he speaks with Ukraine's air defense operators, texting back and forth about what's needed right now, like pulling some over from another region. He says those nightly discussions don't let him sleep. "I'm not complaining at all. And that's how I live." @ZelenskyyUa

Replying to @FIFAcom
@FIFAcom should rename its prize as “Humanitarian of the Year.” Last year it was Mr Trump. In 2026 it is for Mr Putin. Witkoff presided the awarding committee, naturally.
