Happy 85th birthday to The Hobbit that was released on this day in 1937.
And happy 35th birthday to this 1987 cover that makes Bilbo look like he owns a deli and sub shop in Atlantic City, New Jersey

If you're a Tolkien fan who also loves the Peter Jackson movies, you need to listen to @ringheads. Do they know absolutely everything about Middle Earth? Not exactly. But I can tell you it's pure joy listening to the nerdy hilarity of two Tolkien fans who are also comedians!
Next week marks 20 years (!) since the first THE LORD OF THE RINGS movie of the trilogy was released.
Is there a podcast commemorating all that in detail, and is it funny? YES. And does it have a 5/5 rating (PERFECT) on Apple Podcasts? Also YES.

the @ringheads podcast has done a good job of recounting how long and convoluted the events are between bilbo leaving and frodo setting out. at one point in there Aragorn captures Gollum and carries him like 900 miles across Middle Earth
