I understand if this movie didn’t work for some and completely understand the criticisms of its heavy handedness. Worked for me but I get it. But this constant talking point that Sebastian was a fascist is wrong. I also don’t believe it’s asking us to empathize with fascists.
“Demanding us to sympathize with queer fascists” His village was bombed, nationalists found him and to survive he obeyed them and joined their side, do you think that he had a choice? Did you want him to tell them “No I don’t want to join you guys” while being held at gun point?

My main criticism of LA BOLA NEGRA is exactly that it over explains itself - with the Glenn Close character, with the Lorca flashbacks in black and white - yet it seems a lot of people want more explanation, more exposition, more... title cards telling then history???
