Enthusiastically welcome Dr Sarah Mullaly as the new Archbishop of Canterbury. Very qualified for the role and makes the 10 years of battles on the General Synod to approve Women Bishops worth it.

He was also a deeply religious, principled man. Very pleased that it will be President Biden who presides over the State funeral. The Camp David Accords of 1978 and the Panama Canal Treaties were amongst his greatest achievements.

Very sad to hear about the passing of President Jimmy Carter. He was a great hero of mine and a key figure from my childhood. He may not have been the greatest President, but he was certainly the greatest Former President and fully deserved the Nobel Peace Prize.

So sad to hear of the passing of Sven Goran Erickson a man who managed England to one of their greatest ever victories in Munchen in Sept 2001. He brought great pleasure. Prayers for his family.

I see a survey states that if you close Churches less people will attend Church. Who would have thought it...

Politics is the unromantic task of identifying problems that urgently need durable accountable solutions at both a local and national level.

In view of the cost of living crisis, it is not really a surprise that spend in shops during December declined by 3.2%. it is yet another example of Britain grinding along in bottom gear. We need something different.

One of the things that highlights why the Honours System needs reform is that while Alastair Cook a batsman was Knighted, Stuart Broad primarily a bowler has got the CBE. Why not the same?

Delighted to see that the Commissioners of the Church of England are going to disinvest from BP and Shell as a result of their broken promises on climate change.

Amused to see that Vladimir Putin follows the General Synod and used his recent State of the Nation address to attack our recent votes on Same Sex blessings. So pleased we annoyed him🤣

@rlunn47 Also why do inspiring leaders like Ardern depart too early and one's like Putin, Erdoğan and Trump try to go on and on?

@rlunn47 Devastating news about Jacinda Ardern resigning. She was my favourite current national leader and she has departed way too soon😪😪

The water has been off for 10 hours in Inkberrow. Hope it is back on soon as feeling rather parched. Can now see the merits of bottled water🤣

I note that Rishi Sunak states that the UK's problems will not go away in 2023. Well some of them would if we had a different government! Namely a Labour one.

Very sad to hear of the passing of Pope Benedict. RIP and pleasing that he had 10 years of retirement after his abdication.
