The fight in Tennessee is bigger than one map.
Across the country, we're seeing a coordinated push to weaken Black voting power and redraw the lines of our democracy. We just joined the NAACP Tennessee State Conference, impacted voters, and co-counsels the Lawyers' Committee for Civil Rights Under Law and LDF to file a motion to block Tennessee's newly enacted congressional map, which dismantles the state's only majority-Black district.
We're asking the court to act now, before the 2026 elections, because the harm here cannot be undone. Once ballots are cast under an unfair map, Black voters can lose representation that no ruling can give back.
"Make no mistake, what we are seeing in Tennessee and across the South is an undeniable effort to strip Black voters of their power and their voice." —@KristenClarkeJD, NAACP General Counsel naacp.org/articles/naacp-fil…
The NAACP is taking a stand. Today, we launch the #OutofBounds campaign, a national call to action for Black athletes, families, fans, and allies.
In response to states erasing Black voting representation after the Supreme Court’s Louisiana v. Callais decision, we are demanding accountability.
"Out of Bounds is our answer: we are naming the contradiction, and we are calling on Black athletes, families, fans, and consumers to act on it. The same power that built these programs can be redirected." —NAACP President and CEO @DerrickNAACP

Our right to vote is facing new threats, but we are standing our ground.
Following the Supreme Court's Callais decision, NAACP is uniting with over 90 organizations to defend fair representation across the South. We are organizing, mobilizing, and building power for the road ahead.

The Rocky Mountain NAACP State Conference stands with @naacp in response to the Supreme Court’s ruling in Louisiana v. Callais, a decision that significantly weakens protections under the Voting Rights Act and threatens fair representation for Black voters.

In a democracy, the voters decide. Today, the Virginia Supreme Court chose to silence them.
Just weeks ago, Virginians approved a temporary redistricting referendum to keep extremist lawmakers accountable. The NAACP proudly mobilized across the Commonwealth, contacting over 150,000 Black voters to help secure this victory.
By overturning this measure, the Court has rejected the clear will of the people. We are exploring all legal and legislative avenues to restore the will of the voters and ensure equal representation for every American. naacp.org/articles/naacp-con…
Virginia voters have spoken! Today, they voted to approve a redistricting referendum, delivering a decisive win for democracy, accountability, and voting power.
This historic outcome is a testament to the power of organized communities. Thank you to every voter, organizer, and volunteer who made this possible. Together, we fought back against disinformation and showed up for the country.
Let this be a blueprint for the rest of the nation as we head toward midterms. 💪🏾 naacp.org/vote

Fair maps mean fair voices. Every community deserves to be seen, heard, and represented. When we protect fair representation, we protect democracy itself.

Let’s stop pretending like we don’t understand what “Us” means.
Sen. Schmitt is not bringing our nation together with these remarks. He’s drawing lines of separation.
But let’s be clear WE and countless other diverse ancestors built this country.
And WE Aren’t Going Back.

What’s disgraceful is a Governor of one of the most diverse states in the nation attempting to strip the voice and representation away of Black and Brown communities, holding sessions that have elected officials being detained, have the audacity to part his lips and say “illegal”

Today, we applaud @SenatorWarnock and @SenatorDurbin for reintroducing the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act (#JLVRAA) just days before the 60th anniversary of the Voting Rights Act of 1965.
As attacks on #votingrights continue to target Black and Brown communities, we owe it to the legacy of John Lewis and the countless advocates who fought for our right to vote to pass this critical bill. The integrity of our democracy depends on it. naacp.org/articles/naacp-sup…

Thank you to all who made this happen in Colorado! C-Suite execs know exactly who they were preying on with these predatory fees! It’s about time!
Overdraft fees punish people who live paycheck to paycheck & generate billions in profits for the wealthiest banks in the country. @Rep_gabEvans_ and Congressional Republicans voted to prevent a cap on overdraft fees, they are ok with the banks making extra profit off of poverty.
The Rocky Mountain NAACP is deeply disturbed and shocked by the recent anti-Semitic attack in Boulder. We unequivocally condemn this heinous act of violence, which has caused harm, fear, and heartbreak within the community.
