Honestly, while NES commands the headlines, TDOT has done a great job. Roads are clear and where they are they’re being visibly handled.

Let me help @NESpower CEO. Your plan and messaging have been incompetent. We can deal with that later but here’s what people need:
• Give citizens a realistic timeline to plan around
• Stop texting people whose power is off that it’s actually on — it’s driving people insane and makes you look like you’re lying about the number of people without power
• Tell users you called MTE CEO & competent Florida utility CEO’s for help (no time for ego)
• Hire more linemen and engineers, I know of multiple NES turned down in recent days who are professional linemen who work disasters
• Post more detailed plans, ideally on video where someone normal explains what’s specifically being worked on right now and what’s being worked on next — this gives everyone realistic expectations and understanding
• Use resources from state and Feds to assist with tree clearing + explain you’ve done this
• Regularly provide info on warming centers and transit to them — ask local gov for help with the transit for elderly and offer free transit for them until their power is back on
• Stop posting tone deaf BS that ignores how angry the community is at you — own it and get to work
• After it’s over, resign — it’s the honorable move
Morning Message
From Teresa Broyles-Aplin, CEO and President, Nashville Electric Service
Thursday, Jan. 29, 2026
Many of you are waking up to day #5 without power, which is a significant hardship. It’s our job at NES to keep the power on, and we will not stop until every household in Nashville has power again.
This storm was unprecedented for Nashville and our country, affecting almost half of the U.S. Its icy layers caused widespread damage across our service area to transmission lines, substations and distribution networks.
At this storm’s peak, 230,000 Nashvillians were without power, the largest number ever. Today, we have less than 90,000 homes remaining without electricity.NES has brought in partners from around the country to engage additional available, qualified crews.
We’ve quadrupled our workforce in a few days, from 200 to almost 1,000 lineworkers from nine states and across Tennessee. We welcome this assistance and are grateful for the help.We still have many days ahead before power is restored to every Nashville household and will continue to provide frequent updates on individual neighborhoods via our website and social channels.
We do expect power will be restored for thousands more households today and tomorrow. For many, power will not be restored through the weekend or longer. We are prioritizing large blocks of homes and moving as quickly as we can. The temperatures hovering below freezing make the work tedious and slow, but we are using every possible resource to restore power quickly and safely to all. Please take all safely precautions in finding alternative shelter over the coming days and take advantage of Metro’s resources for safety. Nashville.gov
I will share updates with you every day until we are on the other side of this crippling storm. We are seeing acts of selflessness, determination and kindness all around us and are grateful to everyone for your partnership and understanding.

For everyone in Davidson. PLEASE READ THIS. And where is @AGTennessee on it?!!!! Unbelievable
To the freezing in Nashville: Do you know that only SEVEN outages are being worked on right now? And it’s not even the largest seven. NES doesn’t have the resources/processes in place to handle more than a handful of outages. 834 outages have no one assigned to them.
WHERE IS THE STATE ATTORNEY GENERAL?
WHERE ARE THE INVESTIGATIVE REPORTERS?
Here’s a thread outlining what I’ve found out so far 🧵:

Yeah Nashville, we are being lied to. I’ll post receipts tomorrow but Facebook was popping off today with lineman confirming that they were told flat out by NES that they didn’t need any extra help. Crews that could have gotten to Nashville quickly were told by NES that they had it handled. Say what?? 100k customers (which translates to ~400,000+ people) are still without heat and power. HOW DO YOU CALL THAT HANDLED? @NESpower
And shame on every press outlet carrying water for this inept power company when people are suffering. Lives and livelihoods are at stake. Y’all are ridiculous. 👀@NashvilleScene

It's remarkable how tribalism breaks people's brains.
All common sense goes out the window.
Republicans are guilty of it, too.

Shoutout the @Braves
They were brutalized by injuries and still put up a good fight
Got nothing but respect for their fans

The Dems are doing deliberate voter importation to swing states & fast-tracking them to citizenship.
The only question is when (not if) enough migrants can vote to flip all swing states, shifting the whole country to permanent one-party rule, just like what happened to California after the 1986 amnesty.
Diabolically smart tbh.
That’s why I keep saying that, unless Trump wins and reverses this scam, 2024 is the last election in America.
The Dem machine’s voter importation scam is the true threat to democracy, not Trump!
Ryan Roller retweeted
Very few Americans realize that, if Trump is NOT elected, this will be the last election. Far from being a threat to democracy, he is the only way to save it!
Let me explain: if even 1 in 20 illegals become citizens per year, something that the Democrats are expediting as fast as humanly possible, that would be about 2 million new legal voters in 4 years.
The voting margin in the swing states is often less than 20 thousand votes. That means if the “Democratic” Party succeeds, there will be no more swing states!!
Moreover, the Biden/Harris administration has been flying “asylum seekers”, who are fast-tracked to citizenship, directly into swing states like Pennsylvania, Ohio, Wisconsin and Arizona. It is a surefire way to win every election.
America then becomes a one-party state and Democracy is over. The only “elections” will be the Democratic Party primaries. This already happened in California many years ago, following the 1986 amnesty.
The only thing holding California back from extreme socialism and suffocating government policies is that people can leave California and still remain in America. Once the whole country is controlled by one party, there will be no escape.
Everywhere in America will be like the nightmare that is downtown San Francisco.

All according to plan. Guess how many migrants are eligible for naturalization under the current rules? 9 million…
