#Microsoft365 #office I have been a fairly heavyweight user of Microsoft office products for the last 15 years. Are you synchronised across my two iPads my laptop and my iPhone? It all worked pretty well. Some of the user interface stuff was just a little bit clunky but on the whole perfectly useable. Over the last few months all my ‘office products’ seem to have been replaced by a suite of new products, integrated with Copilot 365 and Edge and, to my non-technic eye, seems to only want to open files from OneDrive. I have now struggled with it for about three weeks and find myself utterly bamboozled and confused on how to make it all work. It keeps refusing to connect and suggesting that I do things that I don’t want to do and the security access interface with OneDrive seems to have a law all of his own. I did not want this nonsense! However, there seems no way turning it off or reversing it. I cannot be alone in this. Can somebody advise me what to do?

(This figure is presumably ‘trade activity’ … ie: exports + imports?) Last year our ‘trade activity’ with the EU … despite Brexit … was nearly £800 billion. (£360 billion exports & £460 billion imports). Am I missing something??

For example, I may well buy fascinating fabrics from specialist weavers in some foreign land … who have acquired centuries of traditional skills. I then use these fantastic fabrics in the manufacture of furniture that I sell all over the world earning money … but strangely enough NOT to the country that made the fabrics! What matters is a nation’s TOTAL Balance of Payments (BoP) … ie: how much it pays out to acquire ALL ‘foreign’ goods and services COMPARED to how much it earns in total from ALL its exports.🥰 If these balance … then the country is in good fettle! If this overall BoP shows a deficit … then either work, over time, to decrease the difference OR do nothing … in which case the country’s currency will devalue in the international finance markets until balance returns. All the drivel that Trump spouts is … er? .. DRIVEL! The current overall BoP for the USA is about 3% of GDP. Here’s a rough ranking of advanced economies by trade balance as a percentage of GDP: 1. Netherlands: +10.0% 2. Germany: +7.5% 3. South Korea: +4.0% 4. Italy: +3.0% 5. Australia: +2.5% 6. Japan: +1.5% 7. Canada: +0.5% 8. France: -1.5% 9. United Kingdom: -2.0% 10. United States: -3.2%

#ElonMusk I think the thing that REALLY hacks me off is that Elon is being crucified for two political positions … right wing support of Trump and MAGA and support for AFD in Germany. Now you may well disagree with his viewpoint … BUT … 70 million American citizens and 30% of the German electorate voted legally and democratically for the same things. He is no fanatic outlier ….. I doubt if my cry for sanity will affect the situation but it should be said loudly and clearly at every opportunity!
