A esquerda LATAM não terá muito o que comemorar caso Trump perca o Congresso hoje.
Explico:
1. Sem maioria em casa, Trump vira o canhão para fora. Sanções, vistos e política externa não passam pelo Congresso. É canetada. Lula e Moraes que se preparem.
2. Presidente no fim do 2º mandato e sem maioria não tem nada a perder. É aí que ele ficará mais ousado.
3. Enfraquecido, Trump perde força para impor o sucessor e quem cresce nesse caso é Marco Rubio, já à frente de J. D. Vance (o preferido de Trump) entre republicanos segundo a última pesquisa Atlas/Intel.
4. Rubio é filho de cubanos, combate o comunismo e a cultura woke há décadas e foi quem cassou o visto de Moraes. Não existe nome mais temido em Havana e em Brasília.
5. O asilo de Flávio? Decisão do Executivo. O Congresso não vota. Sem contar que a gestão Biden negou extradição de Alan dos Santos. Ou seja, mesmo que os democratas vençam em 2028, não contem com extradição de Bolsonaros.
A derrota de Trump hoje pode representar várias vitórias para a direita LATAM nos próximos anos.

Gane quien gane en las midterms hoy, los demócratas no van a poder legislar con Trump en La Casa Blanca. El presidente de USA tiene la capacidad de ejercer su derecho a veto de dos formas. El regular veto manda la ley de vuelta a las Cámaras sin firmar. La única forma de hacer un override sobre ese veto es por medio de una mayoría cualificada de 3/5 en ambas cámaras, cosa que no va a pasar. La otra forma es el pocket veto. Es un veto que no puede ser deshecho por las Cámaras. Es inapelable. Se usa cuando el Congreso suspende sus sesiones tras pasarle al presidente una ley.
Cuando Trump dice que va a ser el “veto president”, es que puede serlo y lo va a ser. USA seguramente entre hoy en una de las peores parálisis legislativas de su historia reciente.

HiISTORICALLY, the administration that’s in power often loses in the midterms. So, if Trump loses the midterms in his final term, he can always do what Obama did.
Obama had two years left to his second term when he lost in the midterms. He was a lame duck president who’d lost the Senate, yet what did he say?
“I‘ve got a phone, and I’ve got a pen.”
And with those words, Obama proceeded to executive-order his entire legislation. He started thinking about every controversial move he could make, and then he acted on each one.
Obama decided that we should join the Paris Accord’s phony climate agenda, and he pledged us to a green deal with them. Next, Obama decided we should recognize Cuba, which we did. Hola¡ Punch my travel ticket to Havana! Then, Obama decided we should join the Iran deal too. Done.
Obama did ALL of this without a senate, without a treaty, and without the 60-vote approval of the Senate.
So, before you leftists all crow that Trump’s agenda will be dead in the water should Dems retake control of both Houses, remember Barack Obama had a phone 📞 and a 🖊️.
Trump does too, only his phone has broader range and his pen has an endless supply of ink.

The Washington Post published what we long suspected - Republicans don't answer the phone when polls call or text-
Democrats are nearly three times more liable to participate.
The Post revealed that its pollsters had made 85,000 calls and sent 50,000 text messages in Kansas seeking to measure support for Senator Roger Marshall, who is being challenged by Democrat Adam Hamilton.
While 32% of Kansas Democrats answered the calls and the texts from pollsters, only 12% of the GOP voters did. The Post conceded that these numbers provide "good reason to suspect the poll overestimates Democratic candidates’ support."
