I've put together my work on the Rotary Encoder for the #RC2014 @retrochallenge and built a music player. Tracks can be selected using the rotary encoder, shown on the LCD, and played on the YM2149. robertprice.co.uk/robblog/rc…

Well - the entire crew of season two of #AdamRichmanEatsBritain has just been robbed. We were driving from Birmingham to London, stopped at a rest, stop in Barnet for exactly 4 1/2 minutes to use the restroom, and came back to our van completely cleaned out. All of the filming equipment is gone. Both of my suitcases with all of my possessions are gone. Backpack with my laptop and all of my medications are gone . And to make matters worse, because I have trackers on some of my possessions, and because of my laptop, I can see where these things are. But we have to wait here for the police. The rest stop won’t release the security footage until the police arrive. It’s been almost an hour. I’m going to share a few of the locations where I can see my possessions. Reward for anything found.

I created a new ROM module for my #RC2014 Classic 2 computer. This is taller than the standard module, has a ZIF socket, and switches for swapping the memory mapping around. I'm hoping this will make it easier to program on my RC2014. #RetroChallenge robertprice.co.uk/robblog/rc…

In my latest update for this year's @RetroChallenge, I look at how to display text on an LCD screen attached to an #RC2014 computer.

The ordering of the text was an issue as the LCD doesn't show lines sequentially, but I came up with a solution.

Lots of progress tonight on my @RetroChallenge. I still need to write it up, but I can now use my Rotary Encoder module to scroll through the poem Puff The Fractal Dragon on my #RC2014.

The new easy access ROM card for my #RC2014 has arrived and I’ve soldered it up. I’ll test it tomorrow. It has a ZIF socket and switches to make it easy to swap ROMs and banks of memory. @retrochallenge

Great to meet @blueheartsussex at #EBNDigiFest today. The remote watercourse height sensors sound really interesting. I’d love to have access to that data, even in a raw format. Happy to help out testing this.

I’ve taken a quick detour in this years Retro Challenge, and I have designed a new ROM board for my #RC2014. This will allow me to use a ZIF socket for the ROM and use switches to easily swap the ROM banks.
