It took me SEVEN years to figure out that you can save a ggplot as a vectorized .svg file ggsave("file.svg"). The svg file can be opened on powerpoint and it will be completely vectorized, even text are still recognized as text boxes! No more recreating plots on illustrator!!!!!

so happy to share a chapter from my dissertation is out today in @PNASNews showing that historical redlining, a policy that codified segregation & disinvestment in marginalized neighborhoods, shapes contemporary wildlife biodiversity in California (1/2) doi.org/10.1073/pnas.2321441…

Led by @watershedted and @kbdobbin, a $9.1 million research project is exploring ways to distribute California surface water more equitably among agriculture, cities and unincorporated communities, and the environment.
UC researchers are working to ensure water distribution priorities meet the needs of communities, imperiled species and the environment #EarthMonth bit.ly/3x5dfIU

Experimentally manipulating stream flows to simulate future conditions in the US Eastern Sierras allowed researchers to chronicle ecosystem changes under extended low-flow scenarios. One finding of note: expect more midges. In PNAS: ow.ly/z7Sh50R25R5

So happy to share the first chapter of my PhD!! 👏🎉🎉. Here we present two different approaches, LCBD and Marxan, to assess the dynamism of temporary streams from a conservation perspective. ¡Check it out! @FEHMlab doi.org/10.1002/aqc.4139

Does climate change-altered phenology affect ecosystem processes? We found that extended low flows mimicking future flow regimes change the phenology of aquatic invertebrates and the ecosystem processes they control at fine temporal scales. pnas.org/doi/epdf/10.1073/pn…
