We started building Echo around 2 years ago in an attempt to try and change the market dynamics around crypto fundraising.
Today, we're joining Coinbase, but the mission stays the same.
We're gonna use the firepower of this behemoth to provide better opportunities to investors and better fundraising options to founders.
Just getting started. Cheers.

Bringing back Up Only was just the warm up.
We’ve acquired @echodotxyz, the leading onchain capital raising platform.

hi! we just launched SF + LA Tech Week and it’s crazy to say (I know I say this every time) but it really is true - it’s the biggest one yet. we’ve broken more records and now have 1,500+ events, over 2x last year’s launch!
SF Tech Week: Oct 6-12
LA Tech Week: Oct 13-19
Register for events here: tech-week.com/calendar
SF is on fire, on track to be home to the biggest Tech Week. When we first started @Techweek_, it was right after COVID, and we saw so many founders relocating outside the Bay Area to cities all over the US. That first year, SF Tech Week was actually the smallest. This year, it’s set to be the largest. We’ve doubled the number of SF events at launch year over year, a clear signal showing just how much the AI wave is fueling the city’s growth. And this is shaping up to be *the* week for tech in the city.
LA was home to the very first Tech Week, and it’s special for me to see how much it’s grown. What makes LA unique is the mix of industries here. We’re seeing two in particular take off - AI in entertainment and deep tech. The best part is how the ecosystem really comes together around Tech Week to champion the city, with so many LA investors and GPs hosting.
One of the biggest pieces of feedback we’ve heard from attendees is that now that Tech Week has gotten so big, we need more ways to discover events most relevant to you. So, this year we’ve put together curated tracks: future of work in SF, entertainment in LA, investor-focused events, hard tech, fintech, hackathons, and more.

Excited to bring @liquifi_finance into Coinbase to make it easy for any startup to issue a token, manage their cap table, and eventually raise money.

Very strategic acquisition by @coinbase of @liquifi_finance—token & vesting management has been a huge pain for everyone in the industry. As more assets get tokenized, this is going to end up looking like a really smart way to entrench their institutional business.
Congrats to the @liquifi_finance team on a great outcome! 🫡
🚀 Big news: Liquifi has been acquired by @Coinbase!
Four years ago, we set out to solve a simple problem: token management was broken. Today's announcement represents validation that infrastructure-first thinking can transform an entire industry.
To our customers at @Uniswap, @Optimism, @ethena, @Zora, and dozens of other protocols: this is just the beginning. With Coinbase's resources behind us, we're building the institutional-grade token infrastructure the industry deserves.
To our incredible team: we did it. From spreadsheets to Coinbase. What a journey.
And, the next chapter is about to be written.

Last night, tens of thousands of Venezuelans tuned into Polymarket for a source of accurate, real-time truth about who would win their election.
In an election mired by accusations of fraud and rampant media misinformation, it was painfully clear why the world needs Polymarket now more than ever.
Polymarket heavily favored Maduro for months leading up to the vote, and last night offered live insight into a deeply contentious struggle for power.
People deserve honest answers about the future of their governments, even if it upsets them. We are betting everything that free market data, available to all as a public good, is by far the best way to make that possible.

Tier 3 gaming tokens are down - most are trading between the range of $5m to $15m.
Is listing your token on tier 2 CEXs worth it at this point?
Tier 2 CEXs (ByBit, Kucoin, OKX, Huobi, etc.) charge $100k-$400k each. On top of that you allocate a budget of $50k-$500k for KOLs & marketing agencies. Allocate $500k-$5m for potential buybacks to support the price. Add $50k-$100k to cover lawyers, tokenomics consultants and others.
Launching and managing a live token is expensive - token is a standalone product and its expenses add on top of your game development & product marketing expenses. If you have a limited budget and by definition these tier 3 games typically have a cumulative funding of $2m-$20m, you should reconsider your token listing strategy.
I get it - your investors are pressuring you to launch a token asap so their vesting schedule can initiate before the bull ends but copy pasting the current meta in a fatigued market will lead you to slaughter.

Narrator: FDV was indeed not a meme
Since this post, I've been speaking to OTC brokers to try and understand secondary market structure for the assets I'm shorting. The findings were pretty revealing so thought I'd share
TLDR: I don't think these will be bullish unlocks
FDV is not a meme - many of you will learn this the hard way this cycle as unlocks hit the market
However, not all FDVs are created equal. The single most important factor in comparing FDVs is figuring out what % of a token's FDV is unrealised profits for investors/team. The higher the % the worse for you as a tokenholder
