russia must lose and lose badly. russia must crawl on its knees out of Ukraine, begging for mercy. That is what every dictator on this planet needs to see." "As long as it takes", is a bad strategy for everyone. We must plan for Ukraine to win and for Russia to lose this war badly. If not, we will have more such wars this century.
Russia needs to lose, and lose badly. That's what every dictator on the planet needs to see. Our ability or failure to stop and punish Russia's crimes in #Ukraine will deter or encourage the aggression of dictatorships worldwide, and thereby determine the course of this century.

Absolutely. No one should mistake Moscow’s proposal to involve Europe for a sign that Russia has suddenly come to its senses. Quite the contrary. What Ushakov is effectively referring to is Russia’s ultimatum to NATO in December 2021, demanding, among other things, a rollback of NATO’s military deployments in Europe to their 1997 levels. In other words, Moscow wants Europe involved not to accommodate European interests, but to impose its own demands not only on Ukraine but on Europe as well.
Actually, when Ushakov says “Europe needs to be dealt with too,” he’s linking it to his previous point about the US forcing Kyiv to make certain decisions. In other words, he’s saying that Trump shouldn’t just bully Ukraine, he should bully Europe too.

If this comes as a surprise to you, I've told you this 20 times. The rest of Donetsk is NOT the peace deal. It's the starting point for russian demands. Those demands (accept or we go back to war) will include demands from the EU and NATO. Plus russian immunity for war crimes.
🚨 Putin plans to use Ukraine peace talks to push NATO back to its 1997 military posture According to The Telegraph, the Kremlin wants to force NATO to scale back its military presence in Europe to levels seen before Eastern European countries joined the Alliance. This could mean demanding the withdrawal of NATO forces from Poland, the Baltic states, and Finland. That is why Moscow is pushing for European countries to participate in negotiations over Ukraine. Diplomatic sources cited by The Telegraph say Putin wants to turn talks about ending the war into negotiations over the entire European security architecture. The issue may also have been discussed during Putin's three-hour meeting with Trump's special envoy, Steve Witkoff, in St. Petersburg. However, European countries have previously rejected the Kremlin's demands to reduce NATO's military presence on its eastern flank.

Fuck no!

That's not my definition of either free speech or democracy.
Elon Musk has cemented his record as the largest individual political donor in modern American history. Musk poured $446 million of his own money into this year’s midterm elections, mostly aimed at preserving the Republican Party’s control of Congress. wapo.st/4igb5Kq

Europe, it’s time to pressure Musk. We’re paying for this, and the story is nonsense: Starlink/Starshield is used by Ukraine itself, for defensive purposes, and has been for years. Lift the restrictions or we stop paying. There must be serious consequences.

Elon Musk claims that Ukraine allegedly violated Starlink's terms of use and used the system on combat drones. As someone who was inside the process at the Ministry of Defense, I can say with certainty that this is not true. In February of this year, whitelists were introduced. Stationary terminals could be registered by both military personnel and civilians. But for any satellite terminal to work while on the move, it had to be added to a special list and connected to the military Starshield system. Otherwise, no satellite communication terminals in Ukraine would work. In other words, using civilian Starlink for drone missions was technically impossible. All drone missions that required satellite communication could only be carried out using Starshield. We are very grateful to the United States and SpaceX for access to critically important satellite communications. Ukraine did not violate the terms of use.

This is a confession to treason. Elon Musk, a private individual and not an elected official, hijacked U.S. national defence policy to harm partner Ukraine and help enemy Russia. cbc.ca/news/world/ukraine-st…

This is more evidence for Congress, which can easily determine if Ukraine violated any terms of service. It also constitutes a tacit admission by Musk that he played a part — if not the central role — in throttling Starlink.

❗️Ukraine violated the terms of use of Starlink and used it for offensive drone strikes with the aim of killing people. This loophole was closed last week — Musk.

Proposals to resume Russian gas sales to Europe, as reported by @TheEconomist, are flawed and dangerous. After decades of Russian energy blackmail, Europe has only just begun to achieve true energy independence. For Moscow, energy is a weapon, not a business. This lesson has been learned the hard way. In 2019, President Trump's firm decision to halt Nord Stream 2 construction was one of the greatest investments in Europe's security. By contrast, the US decision to let construction resume in 2021 was one of the gravest strategic mistakes. Allowing Russian pipelines to bypass Ukraine invited Putin to launch his full-scale invasion. Past mistakes must be neither forgotten nor repeated. These strategic failures brought no greater prosperity or security — only war, turmoil, and crisis. An end to this war will not come through concessions, business deals, or flattery. It can end only through strength and by depriving Putin's regime of the resources to continue it.

I am a #Canadian and Junior Sergeant in the Armed Forces of #Ukraine. Yesterday META suspended my Facebook account with 51,000 followers and deactivated my Instagram with almost 30,000 followers. When my Facebook was reinstated there was no violation flagged only restrictions to posting and commenting for 30 days, a restriction on groups for 1 year, and Marketplace is restricted. I can no longer sign in on the laptop, it flags my own laptop as suspicious activity even if I confirm it from mobile app. @Meta and @instagram has not yet replied to any of my attempts to contact them. They are suppressing the voices of people from around the world.
A brief review of recent technical “errors” at Meta: 1. Restricting the Facebook pages of Brazilian president Lula who is in a runoff election against a Trump-favored candidate 2. Shutting down the pages of Albanians protesting Jared Kushner’s plans to build a luxury resort in the country 3. Rejecting ads for a documentary critical of Elon Musk 4. Shutting down the No Kings instagram page in the middle of a major anti-Trump protest

Russia “has been fine”? Hundreds of thousands dead. Millions of lives destroyed. And still, millions will vote for this man. Shame on every one of you.
⚡️ "Russia, frankly, has been fine on Ukraine—they haven't been doing much," US President Donald Trump said when asked about potential talks with Russia and China.
