being comfortable with opening up and reading the source code of a library or tool in order to understand how something works is truly a game changer.
i can't tell you how many times reading the source code has helped me when the documentation was lacking or outdated!

So Moulin Rouge might just be my favorite musical ever… so well done! Can’t wait to see it again 😁😁😁
It’s been a full on couple of years, and I’ve definitely aged out of triple j, but it’s so heartwarming to have the wiggles win the Hottest 100
I always love it when I’m googling for an answer to a software problem and I come across a library written by a friend that solves it. This time it was Combustion by @pat! Thank you to all the OSS contributors out there, I really do stand on the shoulders of giants 🙇♂️

are there any female-identifying engineering leaders who have tried both the manager and IC tracks who'd be willing to talk me about how and why they chose the path that they did?
i'd love to hear about the pros + cons of each path and how you knew which one was right for you :)

If you learned SQL in 1992, all that knowledge would still apply today.
Does that apply to *anything* else in our stacks? Python was (barely) 1.0, Linux went 1.0 in '94. Ruby, Javascript, Java in '95.
SQL knowledge is durable af. SQL is still *the* API for data. Learn SQL.
