A tremendous loss. Professor Kalinga was a towering scholar, a mentor, and a friend. I will miss him very much.
Shaken by the news circulating on social media that Prof. Owen Kalinga has passed on. Prof. Kawinga was a leading Malawian historian whose book, Historical Dictionary of Malawi, is a must-read for those who want to take a deep dive into our history. Rest in peace, son of the soil

I'm leaving Susquehanna University after this semester, and the department is looking for a VAP in African History to start in the fall. It's a wonderful department and I'd be happy to talk with anyone about the position. careers.historians.org/jobs/…
