It’s been a year and half since the homicide of Nadria Wright.
I spoke with her mother who tells me how she feels just three days after the man charged in her death was sentenced. She says today was supposed to be the start of the trial however, the suspect took an Alford plea.

I share @ChiefJohnHayden’s sentiments about retired @SLMPD Captain David Dorn. He was a dedicated public servant who cared about his community and about helping others. His murder is senseless & heartbreaking. Condolences to all who knew, loved him.

This afternoon, I had the chance to speak again with @GovParsonMO and other Missouri mayors regarding #COVID19.
At this time, @STLCityGov will not be lifting our mandatory #StayHome order -- even as the state begins to slowly reopen beginning Monday, May 4.

Tonight, five pallets of personal protective equipment arrived at @STLFireDept from the state’s strategic stockpile. These boxes contain N95 masks, gowns, gloves, face shields.
This will supplement our existing supply & assist our brave first responders during #COVID19 pandemic.

We must all recognize that our actions — and inactions — can have grave consequences for the health of everyone.

This was a young woman, in her 30’s, who we believe contracted #COVID19 without traveling.
That means community spread is here.
And it underscores the point that this virus doesn’t discriminate regardless of age, race, ethnicity, socioeconomic status, gender identity, etc. – at St Louis, MO

Ten years ago today, I signed the Affordable Care Act into law. It protected preexisting conditions, cut the uninsured rate in half, and lots more. But it's still under political attack right when we need care the most. We have to protect it, build on it, until we cover everyone.

Late last night, @STLCityGov and @CityofSTLDOH received word of a 2nd presumptive positive case of #COVID19 in the City. With this case, there's reason to believe there is community exposure.

It’s not a matter of if, but when. That’s why we need #SocialDistancing to help slow the spread of #COVID19 to save lives & not overwhelm health care systems.
