Rohan Bhattacharya, Ph.D.

Thrilled to share that a part of my Ph.D. work from @DukeU @DukeCBTE @ProfSamiraMusah Lab is now out in @natBME! We investigated the impact of CHD-linked SMAD2 variants on kidney development using engineered human iPS cells in a microphysiological system.

I want to thank my committee members: @cgersbach, @GeorgeTruskey, @GentzonHallMD, @Tatalab_Duke; @CBTEDuke @seguralab, & collaborators #ChristineESeidman, #JonathanSeidman, #TarshaWard @harvardmed, @GentzonHallMD @DukeHealth for inspiring me & pushing me to strive for excellence.

Working alongside many inspiring scientists and clinicians from @DukeU and @DukeHealth @DukeHospital was an absolute honor, and it made me strive to investigate society's one of the most pressing problems in healthcare: #genetic #kidneydisease.

Last week, I graduated from @DukeU, @DukeUBME, @DukeEngineering with a #PhD in #BiomedicalEngineering. My journey wouldn't have been possible without the mentorship, love, & support of my Ph.D. advisor, @ProfSamiraMusah, who believed in me & allowed me to join her team.

#PhDone! What an incredible journey it's been @DukeU @MusahLab! I'm lucky to have 1 of the most supportive mentors: @ProfSamiraMusah, who trusted my dreams of becoming a scientist dedicated to patients' health, gave me an open canvas, & transformed my personal & professional path
