One of the greatest songs ever โ€ฆ when people think of a-ha, they think take on me โ€ฆ but this song โ€ฆ itโ€™s better IMHO
โ€œThe Sun Always Shines on T.V.โ€ became one of a-ha's most powerful early songs, but its recording sessions were anything but easy. Paul Waaktaar-Savoy recalled that Morten Harket and Magne Furuholmen were both suffering from influenza while the band was recording the song, even lying on camping beds in the studio with high fevers. The song was almost left off Hunting High and Low until Andrew Wickham's secretary heard it and convinced him that it was a potential hit. The track was released in 1985 as the second successful single from a-ha's debut album, Hunting High and Low. It became the band's first No. 1 single on the UK Singles Chart, while reaching No. 20 on the Billboard Hot 100 and the Top 5 in Germany, Sweden, the Netherlands and Norway. Its iconic music video continues the story of โ€œTake On Me,โ€ with Morten Harket's character returning to the real world before a-ha perform inside a Gothic church surrounded by mannequins. The video won two MTV Video Music Awards in 1986, for Best Cinematography and Best Editing and was also nominated for Best Art Direction.

Ha muerto Dolly Parton, la Reina del Country, uno de los mรกs grandes รญconos de este gรฉnero musical. Tenรญa 80 aรฑos. Mรญrala aquรญ cantando โ€˜I Will Always Love Youโ€™, escrita y grabada originalmente por ella en 1973, antes de la versiรณn de Whitney Houston. ๐Ÿค

Love this song
Voyage Voyage is the biggest hit by French singer Desireless (stage name of Claudie Fritsch-Mentrop), released in 1986. The song was successful in Europe, reaching #1 in several countries, including France, Germany and Spain, and became one of the great synth-pop classics of the 80s. Desireless was a relatively unknown artist before "Voyage Voyage" and after this hit failed to repeat the success. Despite the huge success in several European countries, the track did not chart in the United States

My first Hawaii trip โ€ฆ every time
โ€œOver the Rainbowโ€ is from Israel Kamakawiwoสปoleโ€™s 1993 album Facing Future. Although it achieved little mainstream success upon its initial release, the medley later became a global phenomenon, transforming into one of the most beloved acoustic recordings of all time. Decades after Israel "IZ" Kamakawiwoสปole's death, it reached #1 in the UK and France, earned multi-Platinum certifications around the world and became one of the most streamed Hawaiian recordings in history. The song was recorded in a single late-night take after Kamakawiwoสปole unexpectedly called a Honolulu recording studio asking if he could come in. Studio engineer Milan Bertosa opened the studio in the early hours of the morning, where Israel recorded the entire performance in one unforgettable session. A passionate advocate for Hawaiian sovereignty, IZ achieved worldwide superstardom posthumously. When he died in 1997, he became only the third person in history to lie in state at the Hawaii State Capitol, and thousands of mourners later gathered as his ashes were scattered into the Pacific Ocean.

This is a 1970s television performance by a female rock singer and her band. She has natural blonde hair, minimal makeup, a black lace-up top, and red boots โ€“ a very retro look.

The opening credits to DRIVE immediately sets the tone for this ambient, understated, but emotionally charged masterpiece. Kavinskyโ€™s โ€œNightcallโ€ helps sell that right from the start. Absolutely devastating loss.

'Nightcall' was & still is the most iconic synthwave song bar none, with no better showcase of it than the intro to 'Drive'. Often you can forget the impact of such special songs once they become so ubiquitous with respect to their genres, but this one never fades. RIP Kavinsky
