UAE authorities have confirmed that this is what the terrorist used to attack Captain Smit Macchhar. Those who were asking where did he get the knife or any weapon from, this "crash axe" is a mandatory tool kept inside cockpit to break through metal or glass during emergencies. Imagine being attacked with this in a small space like a cockpit! Apparently his plan was to kill the pilot over Jordanian airspace and then crash the plane somewhere in Israel. Captain Smit is lucky to be alive. Respect increased for him after looking at this weapon.

This man is a hero. Captain Smit Machchhar, the Indian captain of flydubai Flight 1073, fought back after being stabbed in the cockpit. Despite being severely injured, he managed to unlock the cockpit door - allowing Israeli passengers and the Emirati crew to intervene and save all the passengers.
