This is funny. Pork is eaten in many parts of kerala, just not as popular as beef. The govt of kerala runs a company called MPI which make and sells pork (and beef) products without anyone outraging. Theirs was the bacon i grew up eating in Kerala. Watch Angamaly Diaries also.

Yeah I think i've decided, this "Keralam" in English is not working for me. In some circumstances it feels fine like "I'm going to Keralam". but let's say "Keralam chief minister" when even in malayalam it would be kerala mukhya mantri, makes it incongruous and jarring.
