Some of you don’t think users are going to use agents for shopping… Meta’s already pushing it!

Thought people like shopping... why would you let an agent do your grocery shopping!?
Breaking news I have just engaged in agentic commerce by having OpenAI dot do my grocery shopping for me on the @HEB website from my laptop while I was out. Added everything to cart, and it scheduled a delivery for me using my saved payment method. The future is 🔥🔥🔥

This is how you shop with agents.
How agents will save you money: I use instacart. its crazy expensive. this is a weeks worth of household essentials, basically $500 with tip. I would never think to compare these prices to other delivery platforms, or even other stores on instacart your agent will just do it.

Even the big guys have checkout issues sometimes… been like this for the last hour for me trying to buy from Apple… (App is up to date)

This is why Amazon is currently blocking your AI/SI agent from shopping. They have an ad business to protect. First organic placement ranking is #6... below the fold. That blue box of Prime Big Deals is also paid for... sponsored ads + deal costs associated with the badging)

Security features. Not bugs. Agentic shopping is incredibly new. Most of these are security features and required for normal people. Taking time to get anything done - If you can do it quicker and have time, then do it. Asking your agent to shop for you to research for a better price, coupons, etc is what takes the time and you'll feel more of the magic rather than just telling the agent to go and buy X from a website when you could've done it quicker. Creating a new CC# - Referring to Link wallet. Security feature, it's a temp card authorized to your account only for that purchase Handholding - Agentic shopping for normies has been out for... about a week! It's going to get better. Muse, Instinct, and these platforms don't want to be on the hook for buying something you didn't tell it to do. Expect this to get better. No Agent Email address - Tell your agent to check out with a different email address or go and create one if this is a problem. There are startups out there specifically for agentic email inboxes as well. Plenty of workarounds like telling it to do a yourname+muse@gmail and to set up a filter. Agentic email addresses will come, but if it's a purchase you wanted... it should probably go to your email, not the agent's.
Tried Muse specifically for buying stuff as an experiment. Highly annoying: - Takes a long time to get anything done - Creates a new CC # each time, so you can't cancel orders - Have to handhold and 2x check it b/c you can't fully trust it'll get what you want, ESP because you can't cancel - Doesn't have its own email address so your inbox gets filled with promo spam from a bunch of companies OR you have to create your own email Genuinely don't understand the point of an agent like this for 'buying household staples' for example as a use case?

One of these is not like the other... Have you made a purchase with an AI agent yet? Two agentic purchase this week with @muse. One with @shop Pay, the other with @link. Still can't buy with @ChatGPT...

If your software blocks my @Muse or @bot from helping me work because you want me to pay for a managed service or higher tier, I promise I will be looking at alternative solutions. This also goes for shopping.

fReE sHiPpInG dOeSn'T mAtTeR @skullcandy is 100% losing purchases to other retailers like Amazon with these shipping prices. $5-10 I'd probably bite, but definitely not with this. If their fulfillment cost is $15/pair, hope they do an audit and find a cheaper option to keep purchases on their site (we can help!)

This is really brilliant. Wonderful. The best art poses real underlying questions. In this case, what does a world look like when you don't need to think? OpenAI itself says it wants "perfect context" of your life. If your entire life is perfectly contextualized, it is modeled, and thus behavior can be predicted and manipulated. What is the purpose of you then? What is the need for a human being? In the short term, to do physical tasks for the AI that it can't. How does it do this? By inserting strategic contextual prompts at any point in the chain of your life that will blossom into an action it desires in the future. In a world of perfect context, there is no free will. You are a tool for a machine. In the long term, as robotics advances, the human being isn't even necessary anymore. A robotic replacement can do physical tasks. So then what? What happens to the human being? Nobody has successfully answered this question yet. This video has a nice Plato's Cave allegory with the people breaking out of the mesmerized trance, but in real life, unfortunately, that's far less probable to happen. So what is the role of the human? That's why this short AI video is art. Because it prompted these thoughts, questions, and hopefully discussions. AI can be art, don't believe haters who say it can't.

Started MAds with mobile as the main use case. I am constantly on the go and need to do things without my desktop. Facebook Ads mobile version is 👎 Demo is free at the bottom of the login page, just enter your email to access. (Oh… there’s also a free version of the app, too)
Any other Meta advertisers check performance on the go by using desktop version of Ads Manager on mobile like a lunatic? Is there anything that's better or more reliable?

It’s obvious that most who have retweeted this didn’t even watch the video. This is about Social Commerce + AI and primarily how META plays with SMBs there. SHOP will continue to grow. Zero concrete announcements in the video, all speculation and code name “Watermelon” with the next model.

For my first post, I’m sharing a letter @NVIDIA signed on why open models matter. AI will transform every industry, power every company, and be built by every country. Open models strengthen safety and cybersecurity, accelerate innovation and diffusion, and enable sovereignty. The world needs both frontier closed models and frontier open models. images.nvidia.com/pdf/Open-W…
