“Wallace’s Flying Frog is able to glide 50 feet in air to escape from predators!! It almost looks like a @DJIGlobal drone!! What other animals does this remind you of?!? Could we build something that might glide like this frog?!? #ngss #ngsschat #science

Check out this camouflage!! What do you see?!? How did these species adapt to these very specific looks?!? How do they know where to blend in and where they might stick out like a sore 👍?!? #ngss #ngsschat #sciencetwitter

It’s estimated that this ladder was laid on the limestone around 150 years ago. When it rained, it dissolved the carbonate compounds contained in limestone & soaked the ladder in calcium and magnesium ions. Over time, the minerals solidified and petrified the ladder's surface.

I’m excited to see all the scientists drawn in our kindergarten classes! I think miss P is wearing a super hero science cape!
My kindergarten daughter brought this home. This is how she views scientists: it’s a girl with a pink and purple lab coat doing “srims” (experiments). This is powerful. We need more females to view themselves in these roles. #girlsinscience #girlpower @rsdk5science

THIS!
The first step in our @STEM4Real framework is to CONNECT. We go by the phrase, "In order to teach them, you must reach them". We must connect with our students. How do you connect with your students? @Jleescience had some great insight earlier this week.

Stay curious!
How did all those plants get up there?!? What are those lines?!? Why is it darker at the bottom and lighter at the top?!? And why is it shaped like an elephant?!? #ngsschat #ngss Elephant Rock, Tongaporutu Beach, New Zealand
Rockwood purchased enough dinosaur 3D models for every child to make their own. My students LOVED this project! Here’s our pictures! @rsdk5science @FairwayElem

We have been studying landforms and bodies of water in science. Yesterday my students worked so hard to create a model of three landforms and one body of water. Their eagerness was contagious. ⛰💕 @FairwayElem @rsdk5science #sciencerocks
