FAIRBORN — On a day when Butler hardly needed a hero, Max Rubins packed his cape anyway. The senior shortstop went a perfect 4-for-4 and drove in two, powering a balanced offensive effort as the Aviators rolled past Fairborn 13–3 on Friday to complete the series sweep and stay perfect at 14–0 (9–0 MVL). The Aviators wasted no time getting started. Mason Reckner doubled home two runs in the top of the first, Rubins followed with an RBI double of his own, and Davis Ketterer capped the inning with a run-scoring single to give the Aviators a quick 4–0 lead. Rubins wasn’t done. He added singles in the third, fifth, and sixth innings—spraying the ball to all fields and setting the table for a lineup that tallied 14 hits and stole nine bases on the afternoon. The sixth inning proved the knockout punch, as Butler pushed across five runs on four hits, including a two-run double from Paxton Dwenger and RBI singles from Jackson Schilling and Rubins. Ketterer (4-0) earned the win on the mound, working the first three innings and allowing just three runs on six hits. He was backed by clean relief appearances from Tate Richardson (5K) and Will Kitchen (2K), who combined to blank the Skyhawks over the final three innings. Reckner finished with two RBIs, while Schilling and Russ Stratman each collected multiple hits. Koby Dues and Schilling swiped two bags apiece, part of a Butler team effort that was aggressive on the basepaths and relentless in execution from start to finish. The Aviators will get a weekend off before traveling to Xenia on Monday to open a series with the Buccs at 5:00 pm.

DAYTON — The stage was bigger, but the storyline remained the same: two MVL heavyweights, locked in another tight, high-stakes battle. And once again, Butler found a way. Playing under the lights at Day Air Ballpark—the visiting Aviators again came through with a clutch sixth-inning rally to pull out a 5-4 win Wednesday night, staying perfect on the season at 10-0, 5-0. As expected, the latest chapter of this rivalry delivered all the drama. The Trojans jumped on the board early with back-to-back RBI hits in the first from Hayden Frey and Carsen Riddle, but the Aviators responded in the third when Max Rubins capped off a gritty six-pitch at-bat with a game-tying RBI single to left. Troy reclaimed the lead in the bottom half of the inning, but the Aviators counterpunched again. An error opened the door in the fourth, and Jackson Schilling made it count with an RBI single down the right field line to give Butler a 4-3 edge. Still, the Trojans wouldn’t go quietly. Aidan Gorman launched a solo shot to right in the fifth to tie the game at four, setting the stage for a decisive sixth inning. That’s when Paxton Dwenger delivered. With two aboard, the junior stepped up and laced a go-ahead single that gave Butler a 5-4 lead it wouldn’t relinquish. Hunter Richardson got the win, tossing six strong innings while striking out seven and issuing no free passes. Koby Dues came in to slam the door shut and earn the save, sealing another one-run win in what’s becoming a season defined by resilience and execution. Rubins starred at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two RBIs out of the seven-hole. Schilling added a pair of hits and an RBI, while Butler racked up 10 hits on the night. Gorman led Troy with three hits, including the home run, while Frey and Riddle each chipped in RBI knocks. Under bright lights the Aviators proved once again they’re built for the moment—delivering in the clutch and staying unbeaten. 📸:Vandalia-Butler City Schools

🧹🧹🧹🧹 MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. — The Aviators closed out a perfect showing at The Ripken Experience on Thursday, knocking off a strong Johnson Central squad 6–1 to improve to 4–0 on the young season. Butler set the tone early, striking for three runs in the top of the first inning. Paxton Dwenger delivered a sacrifice fly that brought in two runs, and Russell Stratman followed with an RBI single to build upon the lead. From there, the Aviators rode strong pitching and lockdown defense the rest of the way. Starter Mason Reckner (1-0) was efficient and effective on the mound, tossing three scoreless innings, allowing just two hits, striking out four, and walking none. Junior Carson Perry came on in relief and handled the next 3.1 innings, surrendering one run on four hits with three strikeouts and no free passes. Sophomore Tate Richardson closed out the win for Butler, striking out both batters faced. But it wasn’t just the arms getting it done. In the fourth inning, shortstop Max Rubins made one of the game's defining plays—ranging to his right to snag a scorching grounder before making an acrobatic throw to first for the out. Just two batters later, Rubins, Dwenger, and first baseman Hunter Richardson turned a smooth inning-ending double play to snuff out a potential Johnson Central rally. Reckner helped his cause at the plate, going 2-for-4 to lead the Aviators’ offense. Rubins swiped two bases as part of Butler’s aggressive five-steal effort. Defensively, the Aviators were flawless, playing error-free baseball and flashing crisp execution all afternoon. Jackson Schilling turned in another solid night behind the plate. Johnson Central (6–3) scattered six hits, with Kyler Callaham, Kaleb Callaham, Andrew Meeks, Dalton Boner, Kaden Litteral, and Chase Preece each tallying one. Boner drove in the Golden Eagles’ only run. Butler (4-0) returns home on a wave of momentum that they will look to keep rolling as they are set to host the Greenville Green Wave on Monday at 5:00 pm.
