honestly i see the qrted sentiment as a very efficient way at laundering transmisogyny because of the very clear throughline from that to “you’re not really oppressed nor understand what Real Biological Women undergo” especially bc of the focus on an unchangeable essence

and honestly it does a disservice to racism too to present it merely as ‘day to day engagements of the way individuals perceive you’ rather than a continuous process upheld by every single engagement with a system, done to a subject in every moment of their necropolitical lives

like we can talk about the way anti Blackness underpins most marginalisations, and the way racism is different from trans/homophobia, without all that. telling someone they can just detransition is like telling someone they can just kill themselves.

even if pre actualisation transfeminisation wasn’t a factor, having ‘privilege’ be contingent on what is basically lifelong torture is not privilege at all. you cannot obscure transfemininity, and you can’t obscure transness without harm so severe it leads to death

i find this sentiment incredibly transmisogynistic bc it completely neglects the way trans girls are subjected to transfeminised labour before they even know they’re women, exacerbated significantly in Black transfems
