I’M GOING TO BE HONEST, BECAUSE THIS IS REAL LIFE, NOT A PR CAMPAIGN.
I cannot keep carrying this level of worry without asking myself what more I’m supposed to do
we sadly aren’t a polished charity with the big names, the celebrity endorsements, the fancy PR or the money to pay for people to give us a few words of support .
We were just us. Raw. Real.
Determined. And facing the dogs and cases that so many others would rather not look at.
We don’t have a big budget to buy attention. We don’t have celebrity privileges to open doors. What we have is experience, compassion, determination and a willingness to stand beside the dogs who need us most, especially the most challenging cases.
And here’s what really gets me…
Major charities and services reach out to us daily for advice, guidance and help. We know what we’re doing. We have knowledge, experience and a genuine commitment to making a difference. We show up when things are difficult, messy and heartbreaking.
Yet when we put our hands up and ask for support, collaboration, media exposure or simply someone to help us get our message out there, it can feel like we’re shouting into a void.
Over the past few days, I’ve pushed social media campaigns, made shout-outs, tried to build collaborations and reached out in the hope of finding people who believe in what we do. Even an offer of PR and media volunteer support hasn’t brought the response we hoped for.
And there’s another part of this that people may not realise.
I do all of this voluntarily. I don’t take a penny in wages.
There is no salary waiting at the end of the month for the hours, the worry, the responsibility or the emotional weight that comes with this work. I give my time, my energy and so much of myself because I believe these dogs and their owners deserve the help.
walking away simply isn't something I can do lightly.
Every single day brings another bill, another expense, another need that cannot simply be ignored.
There are real costs behind the scenes, and the financial pressure never seems to take a day off.
We can have all the compassion in the world, but we still need resources, practical support, connections and people willing to stand beside us if we’re going to keep doing this work.
And I’m left asking myself: What more are we supposed to do?
I’m not writing this for sympathy, and I’m not asking anyone to feel sorry for us. I’m asking people to look beyond the size of a charity, the number of followers it has or the famous faces (not) attached to it.
Look at the work. Look at the cases. Look at the commitment. Look at what can be achieved when people who genuinely care come together.
I don’t want us to spend more time trying to convince people that we deserve support than actually getting that support to the dogs.
I want us to be seen for what we ARE.
So yes, I’m deflated. I’m worried. I’m questioning what the next step should be. But I’m also reminding myself why we started in the first place.
We need PR and media volunteers. We need meaningful collaborations. We need people who can amplify our work, connect us with the right networks, help us raise awareness and turn visibility into practical support.
If you can help, please reach out. Every genuine offer of help could make a difference.
We might not have the biggest voices in the room, but we have something worth speaking up for.
We are raw. We are real. We face the cases others find too difficult.
We give our time voluntarily, and we keep showing up because the dogs still need us.
We cannot do everything alone, and we shouldn't have to.
We’re not asking for applause. We’re asking for people to stand alongside us and help us keep going.
Not for recognition. Not for headlines. Not for ourselves.
For the dogs. Always for the dogs 🧡
Thank you for listening & goodnight

Today, I ended up in hospital after experiencing significant chest pain.
I’m now being referred to the Rapid Chest Pain Clinic because the doctors believe there could be an underlying issue that needs investigating. I’ve been put on daily aspirin and nitrolingual spray to use when the pain comes on, with clear instructions that if it doesn’t settle within five minutes, I must return immediately to hospital.
But while I should be concentrating on my health, my mind keeps going back to one thing:
What happens to the charity if we cannot secure the financial support we desperately need?
I have given 10 years of my life volunteering to this charity, following six years previously volunteering to help London’s homeless people and their dogs.
For 10 years, I have kept going because I believe in what we do. I believe in the people we help. I believe in the dogs we support. And I believe that the work we do matters.
But I have to be completely honest now.
We are struggling financially.
Fundraising is becoming harder.
Grants are becoming harder to secure.
Donations are becoming harder to find.
Yet the bills, and other essential costs do not stop.
The charity’s overheads continue every single day, whether we have the money coming in or not.
And I am reaching a point where I cannot continue carrying the financial worry, the pressure and the uncertainty on top of everything else.
I am worried about my health.
I am worried about the charity.
And I am worried about what happens next.
This isn't a post I ever wanted to write.
I don't want sympathy.
I need support.
If you have ever believed in what we do, if our work has ever meant something to you, or if you simply want to help us keep going, now is the time to stand with us.
🙏 Please donate if you can.
🙏 Please consider fundraising for us.
🙏 Please share this post.
🙏 Please talk about our charity and help us reach people who may be able to support us.
Even a small donation can help.
A share could reach someone who can make a much bigger difference.
A fundraiser could help pay an essential bill.
A regular donation could give us the stability we desperately need.
Please don't wait until we're forced to say that we can no longer continue.
We have spent years helping others through some of the most difficult circumstances imaginable.
Right now, we need people to help us.
I have given everything I can for the last 10 years.
But I cannot do this alone anymore.
Please help us keep the charity alive.🧡

Yet more evidence that the welfare of horses is a very low priority in the horse racing industry
Grand National winner ‘deprived a horse of water’, used ‘diluted bleach’ to treat wounds and drove a Gator vehicle at his string to frighten them onto the gallops, a BHA disciplinary panel heard on Wednesday.

💔❤️💔❤️Some days at My Lovely Horse Rescue are incredibly hard. 💔❤️💔
But then there are moments like this.
We are so incredibly lucky to have our lovely John from Blackwater Veterinary Clinic.
He came to see Fergus, a little whippet boy who arrived with us last week skin and bone, terrified and completely broken.💔💔💔
When we first saw him, our hearts broke. He was so frightened, with his tiny tail tucked right underneath him. You could see that this little boy had been through so much.😡💔
But look at him now. ❤️
Fergus has discovered the joy of a comfy bed, a big duvet, soft blankets and toys. He is slowly learning that he is safe. That he is loved. That nobody is going to hurt him.
❤️❤️
And having people like John there to care for these animals means everything to us.❤️🤩
Because the truth is, rescue isn't always easy.
We have the beautiful moments, but we also have the heartbreak. The exhaustion. The worry. The horrible comments. The keyboard warriors. Sometimes even threats.😡😡😡
There are days when it feels like there is always something else to deal with.
But then we look into the eyes of an animal like Fergus.
And we know why we keep going.
Because the animals don't care about any of that.
They just need someone to stand up for them.
They need someone to say, "You're safe now. We've got you." ❤️
And that is what we will always do.
So today, on this FIVER Friday, at the end of another long week, we want to say THANK YOU to the great humans who stand beside My Lovely Horse Rescue. ❤️
To everyone who follows us.
To everyone who shares our posts.
To everyone who donates.
To everyone who sends a kind message.
To everyone who volunteers.
To everyone who believes in what we do.
You mean more to us than you will ever know.❤️❤️
If you can, please donate towards Fergus and the many other animals who are depending on us. There are always more waiting for help, more little lives that need veterinary care, food, warmth, safety and love.
And we will be there.
No matter what.
No matter what humans throw at us, the animals still need us.
And that's the end of it.
So tonight, we aren't going to focus on the negativity.
We're going to focus on Fergus sleeping safely in his big comfy bed.❤️❤️
From all of us at My Lovely Horse Rescue, and especially from little Fergus...
Thank you. We love you. ❤️

❤️💔❤️💔 Our beautiful Garron. ❤️
John, our lovely vet from Blackwater Veterinary Clinic came to see Garron today, and he was absolutely delighted with his progress. ❤️❤️❤️
His skin has improved so much, his hair is starting to grow back, and he’s putting on weight. ❤️
It’s hard to believe this is the same little pony we rescued at a horrible hose fair in Carlow, 😡😡😡
weak, desperately thin and covered in ringworm 💔💔😡😡
Look at him now. ❤️
This is what love, determination and the right veterinary care can do. Every little improvement is a victory.❤️❤️❤️
Please donate if you can. Your support allows us to continue giving animals like Garron the care, safety and love they deserve.❤️
This is what we do at A Lovely Horse Animal Rescue, we never give up on them. ❤️

EMERGENCY IN TIPPERARY 💔💔💔💔
This poor horse was found severely emaciated, with a serious leg injury, abandoned in a bog and left to die.💔💔💔😡😡😡😡
He is microchipped and appears to be a French trotter. Sadly, horses like him can be used for sulky racing and, when they are no longer considered useful, some are simply discarded. This beautiful animal was left suffering, weak and alone in horrific weather💔💔😡😡😡
We travelled two hours to get to him and save his life. Thanks to the local people, ESB workers and the Thurlez An Garda Síochána who helped us today we are incredibly grateful for your assistance.
We are now on our way to UCD Veterinary Hospital in Dublin with him, where we hope he can receive the urgent veterinary treatment he desperately needs.❤️❤️
Please donate if you can. animals all over Ireland are suffering and desperately need help.
Even a small donation can make a difference. Please share this post too getting it in front of the right people could help save his life.

THIS IS WHEN THE STRESS REALLY HITS ME.
And this isn’t even the only invoice we’re facing right now…
But today, I want to tell you about our beautiful Willow.
Willow (name now changed to this) recently came into our care after suffering an absolutely horrific injury. During a mental episode, her previous owner cut part of her tail off with a knife. When Willow arrived with us, she was in a terrible state and had so many health problems that needed addressing.
One of the most urgent was her severe dental disease.
Some of Willow’s teeth had actually gone through her gums and into her nasal area. It was absolutely horrendous.
Before anything could be done, we had to get this precious girl stable enough to undergo an urgent operation , an operation that, because of her age and condition, carried its own very real risks.
Thankfully, she made it through.
Willow has now lost the majority of her teeth, but our vet told us it was essentially a case of go ahead and give her a chance, or call it a day.
There was NO WAY I was calling it a day.
Why should we, when Willow still has so much life in her and can have a good quality of life?
And she is now living that life.
She is happy. She is loved. She is safe. She gets to be a dog again.
But the reality is that giving these dogs the second chance they deserve comes at a huge cost.
Willow’s dental treatment alone has cost £1,732.
And now we are also waiting on biopsy results for two concerning lumps , one on her mammary gland and another around her mouth.
We never know what the next bill is going to bring, and honestly, the pressure can feel overwhelming.
But we couldn’t say no to Willow.
We couldn’t look at her suffering and decide that her age or the cost meant her life was worth less.
She deserved a chance. And we gave her one.
Now, please, if you can help us towards Willow’s enormous veterinary bill, we would be incredibly grateful. 🙏
Even £1, £5 or £10 makes a difference. And if you can’t donate, please share Willow’s story , that alone can help us reach someone who can.
Thank you for standing beside us and helping us continue to say YES to dogs like Willow.
Willow is still here. Willow is happy. Willow has a future. And that is why we fight for them. 🧡

Sometimes I feel like I was born to be a juggler in a circus…
Except these aren’t balls I’m juggling. They’re lives, emergencies, bills, fundraising, kennel projects and the constant needs of dogs who have nowhere else to turn.
Right now, we are being stretched further than ever.
Every single day brings another urgent request for help. Another dog needing veterinary treatment. Another operation that simply cannot wait. Another bill that has to be paid.
And behind the scenes, we are desperately trying to keep up with the enormous overheads that come with running a sanctuary.
Our second half of the kennel build has sadly had to be put on hold. We were due to have the company come next week to install the kennels, and we know how incredibly beneficial this space would have been for the dogs in our care.
But we simply haven't been able to raise enough money, and we don't have surplus funds sitting there to cover the project.
We even approached the farmer who has the field behind us, hoping they might allow the concrete company access through the field so the concrete could be laid much more easily. Sadly, we were declined.
That one decision has meant an additional £500 expense for dumper trucks and an extension of the concrete hose and the hose still doesn't quite reach the very top.
It feels like it has been one thing after another after another. 😔
And this is the part of running a charity that people don't always see.
We desperately want every penny raised to go towards helping dogs, but there are unavoidable costs behind the scenes ,buildings, transport, equipment, utilities, veterinary treatment and so much more.
And at the moment, we have many dogs waiting for veterinary operations, and those have to take priority.
Every day there is a need.
Every day there is an expense.
Every day we somehow have to find a way to keep going.
Sometimes, honestly, I don't know how we do it.
But then I look into the eyes of the dogs who have been given another chance, and I remember exactly why we have to.
We cannot do this alone.
If you can make a donation towards the kennel build, veterinary treatment or simply the day-to-day running costs of Dogs on the Streets, please, please consider helping us.
Even a small donation makes a difference when enough people come together. 🙏
And if you can't donate, please share this post. You never know who might see it and be able to help.
We are exhausted. We are worried. We are juggling more than ever.
But we are still here.
Still fighting. Still refusing to give up on the dogs who need us.
Please help us keep going. 🙏

A very special day for Dogs on the Streets….
Today, we’re incredibly honoured to be attending the BBC Radio London Make a Difference Awards, where Dogs on the Streets has been named as a finalist. 🥹✨
To have been put forward for this award, and to have made it all the way to the final stage, means more to us than we can put into words.
Every day, we see the incredible bond between people and their dogs.
We see love, loyalty, companionship and the difference that simply being there for someone can make.
This recognition is not just for us , it’s for every person and every dog we’ve had the privilege of supporting, and for every volunteer, supporter, donor and member of our team who helps make our work possible.
And today, we celebrate everyone who has been nominated and everyone who makes a difference, big or small. Because every act of kindness matters.
Every helping hand matters. Every life matters.
We’re incredibly proud to be here.
Wish us luck! 🤞
We’ll update you all later… 🏆✨
Everyone makes a difference. 🧡

We are currently dealing with a very extreme case where the Owner feels you can The only option is to surrender their Dogs one being 13 years old we will not have this.
We will not be beaten by the council by the housing by the sections!
We will advocate for this person.
We also need to ensure that we can provide food and veterinary care for the Dogs, but we also be doing a shout out for supermarket vouchers so he is accessible to obtain food. It really is truly heartbreaking the cases that we received daily. 🧡

What is the Government and regulators fixation of getting synthetic Folic Acid - which is not the natural Folate our body requires into our bodies ?
The plot is thickening , just like the blood of those of us who took the Covid shots !
jms🐾 retweeted
Dear @Tesco
You have voluntarily chosen to add synthetic folic acid to flour and bread that are not on the mandatory list to save costs.
This means 3.5million people with cancer cannot buy your bread as your whole meal and sourdough and brands you stock have folic acid added too?
Why did you choose to save costs? Over the lives and health of, at a minimum, 3.5million cancer sufferers who were told there would be bread and products without synthetic (to them killing agents)
Folic acid?
jms🐾 retweeted
Do you get the vibe that's this government are trying to decrease our population? Because they certainly are acting like they are ! So they are loading our bread with this synthetic folic acid that usually only pregnant women are given , now they are proposing lacing our water with lithium none of this we need ! This is the most dangerous government we have ever had and they are trying every which way to destroy us and our children , Thoughts ?
PLEASE SHARE ...

Innocent my A*se 😡 From this mornings shop in Tesco.
What possible reason could you have for adding this nasty man made substance, to your supposedly natural product 🖕🏻
"We never add sugar" no you don't, but you're perfectly happy to add folic acid instead. Shame on you. 💀

If you haven’t already signed the public petition to stop synthetic Folic Acid being added to flour in the UK , I hope you will when you see below who is behind it !
