Insane that this NYT glowing profile of this Italian city councillor does not at all engage w/ the far right political party she’s a part of, the context of being a part of that party esp right now in Italy & how it relates to her being a part of a self-organized policing group.
You probably don’t know Monica Poli’s face, but you might recognize her voice. She and her fellow amateur watchdogs report suspected pickpockets to the police — and one report said the group was responsible for a third of all such arrests made in Venice. nyti.ms/3KkEOls

Cant believe I’ve never heard about how the US government plants cyanide bombs all around the west in order to kill wildlife. The ranching industry is so, so evil.

Kiara Toth speaks about Shuai Zhang incident: “I didn’t understand why she made such a fuss out of it, that she wanted to overrule the judge’s decision. I don’t understand why she didn’t accept it, but she made trouble for herself.” What a sad statement.

I’ve spent the last two days in Zelda blowing up goblins and stealing their natural resources to power machines of war that will be used to steal more natural resources. I actually kinda started to feel bad about this last night at around 1 am. You’re literally a blonde oppressor

As someone who was hellaciously bullied in my first year of grad school, can confirm. I went for my Ph.D. after 5 years of teaching high school, only to run into a clique of formerly bullied who decided now was their chance. They made up rumors that I hadn’t gotten into
there's a kind of kid who is bullied and comes away from it traumatized, a kind of kid who comes away from it standing up to bullying, and a kind of kid who secretly envies the bully academia is a den of the latter

These two approximations have changed how I view sports: - A best-of-51 NHL series is needed to match the NBAs best-of-7 - A best-of-75 MLB series is needed to match the NBAs best-of-7 From last night, a post on the postseason equivalence between leagues statsbylopez.netlify.com/pos…

Shout out to all the folks who promised that this outcome would never happen and implied that those of us who fought to protect working people in NYC from getting fleeced by Amazon were “economically illiterate.” I look forward to your next analysis! 🙂
Amazon is postponing much of HQ2 in Arlington VA and many of its new hires there are still working largely remote, yet it's about to collect its first tranch of $152 million in taxpayer subsidies from the state of Virginia. @teoarmus: washingtonpost.com/dc-md-va/…
