Last night I spoke to a group of female XC runners.
We asked who thought they looked like a runner. No one raised a hand.
They were incredibly talented, funny, and supportive. They were all runners.
How can we ensure young athletes see themselves through less critical eyes?
Medical School is all about balancing the fear of being killed by every disease you learn about and not actually being killed by learning about so many diseases 🧠 🫠 #medschool
A New Study Shows Connections Between Disordered Eating, Exercise Dependence, and Fueling in Trail Runners&url=trailrunnermag.com/nutrition…
In the initial call w a current athlete, they claimed a healthy relationship w food.
5 mo later, they opened about all of their issues w/ eating, body image and self worth.
Gaining trust is 1/2 the battle. Don’t take athletes at face value until you know them (& they know you).
Completing secondaries for medical school has been a great way to finesse my writing style.

What do professional trail and ultrarunners earn?
Almost none of the data I collected from nearly 200 pros in the sport came as a surprise, but we are finally reaching a point of more transparency.
There's still lots of work to do, but this is a start.

It's confirmed that Mosquito Ridge Rd will not be open for race day as the damage from the fire and rain is too severe. Thus, no crew access to Duncan Canyon or Dusty Corners this year. It is expected to be repaired in 2023 just not in time for our race.

Boston Marathon coverage, please please go back to the women’s race. It’s actually interesting and this is the time where moves will be made. We don’t need to see Kipchoge finish 9th. Thanks.

Emma Bates looks great!
But a lot of people left in that race. Things will get interesting once they hit the hills.
You'll get a much better idea of who has what left in the tank.
The women's race could be a fantastic and entertaining finish.

Huge thanks to @mackinprof @laurencs25 @AlyshaDSouza1 for including me in this research.

A new 48-hour record: @runcamille has run farther than any American, male or female in history, eclipsing Olivier Leblond's 262 miles. She has run 263 (Women's WR) and still has an hour and 23 minutes to go. #ultrarunning #beastmode #USA

Congrats to Camille Herron (@runcamille) who has set a new 48-hour world record, by surpassing the prior record of 411.5 kilometers (255.7 miles).
She did this in about 45 hours, 8 minutes — and she's still running!
