Andrew tackles the centralization/decentralization of health systems in this paper by bringing in management literature on innovation to break down policy rhetoric. With Jenna Evans and @rurallyAli

Cnd policy rhetoric on centralisation identifies innovation as an outcome. This paper challenges the assumed relationship with evidence from the management literature. @AndrewScarffe @rurallyAli @TelferResearch @Telfer_uOttawa doi.org/10.1002/hpm.3531
So glad to have had the opportunity to work with @WhitneyZahnd and Courtney Burgin on this policy paper as Rural Health Fellows.

Omicron will destroy the sustainability of the health workforce. In early COVID we looked at what the prior literature on health emergencies could teach us about bolstering the workforce in the face of a surge. The answer? Not a lot: rdcu.be/cEgaE @DrIvyBourgeault 1/2
So pleased to have this paper published just in time for the holidays! We really need to do more health workforce evaluation to understand what works in times of emergency. Thanks to my co-authors @DrIvyBourgeault, Asli, Amanda, and our close collaborator, @maramihaile

Big thanks to the #nrha2021 presenters who did land acknowledgements today. I hope to see greater uptake of this practice! @shawnda_smo @katybkoz
I did a land acknowledgement with a physician assistant class this week. I feel like I did a bad job, but I'm learning and I'm reaching out to local tribes for more information so next time I can do a better job. Whose land are you on?

If every #NRHA2021 presenter in a virtual conference did a land acknowledgement, think of all the lands (treatied or unceded) and peoples we could have learned about.
Want to know whose land you're on? Text your zip code to (907) 312-5085
