yes, the gambling with george's engine was sooooo worth it. it was really well-planned. that fuckass engine would have only needed to last from hungary... to the rest of the season basically.
A member of one of the Mercedes customer teams confirmed to Auto Motor und Sport that the (turbocharger) update is not intended for the current American triple-header. Therefore, it won't be used in São Paulo either.
If the race calendar is shortened, Mercedes would only have the opportunity to test the new turbocharger in race conditions at Las Vegas and Imola. The goal is to use the new engine this year. But time is running out.

+) huge props to Bono (sad I had to cut his radios short). On top of HPP/Control settings, diffs, b-migs, etc. and reminding Antonelli of track limits and Yellow flag rules, he can simultaneously analyze the Racing lines of multiple drivers:
Lap4) Main loss to Verstappen at Turn 13. Pull back [?] entry, focus on mid-exit.
Lap5) Turn 13 was better that lap.
Lap8) Main loss to Verstappen braking Turn 11. You can use a wider line on exit.
Lap13) Into T11 Verstappen wider entry and exit line, think about that.
Lap28) You are strong Turns 8, 9 to [Leclerc].
Lap47) You can use wider exit Turn 1.
Unfortunately, we heard no message of this sort from Dudley for the entirety of the Race.
He'd started trying corner-specific suggestions earlier in the season (I was SO glad) - so I've no idea why he's decided to discontinue them, especially considering how they'd definitely affect lap time.
