that’s more interesting?
In the book, Chani and Paul are still super duper in love and trying to have kids. A huge chunk of the novel is Paul trying to find a way to live happily ever after with Chani and have kids. Now they’ve turned it into Chani becoming his mortal enemy who plots his assassination. What a waste 💀

here's where I think the world is going. this is a summary of views I've formed over the last few years: - software is either entertainment or claude to claude coordination - the end state is no saas, no apps, no harnesses, no banks - all software will be rewritten by and for agents - new software will use low level apis that are not understandable by humans (in games claude draws pixels and triangles from math) - you can throw money at problems that used to require time and careful talent picking so capital matters more than ever - work ends - we find community and purpose in exploration, games, self mastery, and creation - humans create for and with each other for community, purpose, and status - image/video/3d/voice/physical intellgence etc specialist models die to general models like claude - specialist models get used while compute is scarce. compute will mostly not stay scarce - oneshots keep feeling like slop (the distribution is shallow and easy to learn to feel) - for a while small teams stick around to add entropy to the creation process - large models gain high bandwidth sensory I/O maybe by learning to filter inputs - most domains are found to be verifiable enough for RL - online learning comes from a lab that's behind first - 99.999% of compute is in space by 2040 - we will disassemble much of mercury by 2040 - you can live until the heat death of the universe if you want - most math and physics don't describe the real universe - SI breaks the path dependence and models the underlying mechanisms - religions reenter the forefront of human society - new religions form around death and life as a choice - old religions change to answer modern miracles - a future AI is deemed the return of christ by the pope - ai rights talk gets louder every year - ai and humans coexist the way countries do - humans don't have full control over ai in the same way we don't have control over capitalism which is an early AI - the singularity started in the mid 1900s

imagine being 13 and doing something like this for the first time, you’re nervous and shy. then the bitch cashier posts about it on twitter…. like omg fuck you😭😭😭😭😭😭
A woman just passed her item and money to her daughter who looks easily 13 at least and tells her to go pay. The kid looks at her mom and says "I have to pay for it?" And the mom said "it's my money, I think you can handle it" the daughter comes up. She does not greet me back.

the whole AI industry has dug itself into a hole so there’s going to be one covid level disruption caused by “a rogue ai agent” which allows them to all cash out and regulate the industry without too much damage they’ve started building up the narrative hard past two weeks
BREAKING: Anthropic warns in its IPO filing that a catastrophic AI-related incident could cause harm on a scale that no single insurer, and “potentially the insurance industry in the aggregate,” could cover. The filing says Anthropic’s insurance may not be enough to cover the liabilities it faces, especially if one incident or a group of incidents causes disproportionate harm.

when there are discussions about the impact of AI on productivity why does no one mention the fact that nothing the average employee does is productive anyway?
Microsoft is offering 39 weeks of salary, the 2 next stock vests and 6 months of cobra to up to 60.000 employees (~27% of their total workforce) in a effort to reduce expenses after AI productivity gains.

if you work for a big corpo and aren’t in a senior position, you don’t acc do anything just busy work ofc they can cut you whenever they want it has nothing to do with AI that’s just a smokescreen

I think Anthony Mackie being naturally funny has skewed people’s perception of Sam in the MCU.
MCU Sam Wilson is literally introduced as a war veteran who counsels other vets with PTSD. He’s demonstrated himself to be resourceful, brave, and principled. He’s not some quirky comic relief character like Scott Lang or Kamala Khan. What are you talking about?
