Iran War assessment after 72 hours.
The resilience, missile/drone capacity and asymmetric strategy of the Iranian regime has come as a surprise to US-Israel.
The intent now, in next 3-4 weeks, would be to destroy nuclear, military and economic (oil and defence industry) infrastructure and continue targeting the political/military leadership hoping for a psychological collapse of the regime. The result is contingent on Iran’s residual ballistic missile and drone capacity.
If the regime remains resilient, then US will declare victory and try to negotiate favourable terms and exit, if at all it can.
Short of regime change it would be a political defeat for US-Israel. Boots on ground will lead to a bigger defeat.
A devastated Iran will have no reason to negotiate. It will switch to asymmetric warfare leading to prolonged turmoil in Middle East including political upheaval. Trump has opened Pandora’s Box.
Next one week will show up a more discernible trend.

🇺🇸 Pete Hegseth just got absolutely humiliated by Senator Tammy Duckworth!
Senator Tammy Duckworth, a retired U.S. Army lieutenant colonel who lost both legs while serving in Iraq, challenged Hegseth:
"I'm glad you brought that up. Can you name a single country that belongs to ASEAN and explain what agreement we have with it? And, by the way, how many countries are in ASEAN? Frankly, I'm not sure you even know who our allies are."
Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth:
"Well, I can't give you the exact number, but I certainly know our allies in South Korea, Japan, and Australia..."
Senator Duckworth:
"None of the countries you just mentioned are members of ASEAN. I suggest you do your homework before engaging in these discussions."
And this is the kind of clueless bullshit running the Pentagon. Absolutely unbelievable.

Those were the days.
Now sitting ducks for drones.
An amazing view of AH-64s from the 12th CAB’s “Viper Battalion” lying in ambush, hovering just a few feet above the ground during a training exercise (Circa 2020). Attack helicopter crews train hard to hug the terrain, using trees, ridgelines and folds in the ground to mask their approach from enemy radar and SHORAD. Then, at the right moment, they pop up, unleash their missiles and disappear back into cover. It may not look like much, but Western attack helicopters are deadly ambush predators, especially when hunting armour.

When Big Media reports this bizarre and bogus exchange between @narendramodi and an AI-driven hologram of a dead man as “Modi interacted with Swami Chinamayananda” they betray a wilful gullibility that puts even the demonetisation-era Godi Media fantasy about microchip-embedded currency notes to shame.
#WATCH | Prime Minister Narendra Modi interacted with Swami Chinmayananda through holographic technology at the Chinmaya Amrit Mahotsav.
The moment recalled their historic meeting in 1993.
"It makes me happy that the person I spoke to in 1993 has now become the Prime Minister of India. Whatever you have done for India so far, we are all proud of you," said Swami Chinmayananda.
The interaction showcased confluence of faith, spirituality and modern technology.

Comments of DG ITBP though naive are well intentioned made in-house to his boys. How these became public needs to be ascertained.
From broader angle character of ITBP unlike some other CAPFs like CISF is quintessentially military. Putting IPS as its head may need rethink.

A total waste of scarce military resources. That too for partisan political purposes.
Instead of finding out and addressing people’s issues they threaten of severe action against the protesters. Govt shud act like parent. If the ward is protesting parent tries finding his grievance - not start beating the ward. If parent starts beating, what would ward do! ….

“Apparently, the solution to every crisis in 2026 is to hold a press conference about 1947. Our current Prime Minister has developed an extraordinary relationship with time. For every present failure, he takes you backwards. For every unfulfilled promise, he sends you to 2047. Fast fast forward. The only place he appears reluctant to stay is the present. And that, dear friends, is where you actually live.”

He's not wrong in saying this. A massive modernization & manufacturing push is required.
China has built numerous roads, tunnels, airfields, bases, posts into the final-mile areas that they can now assert on the LAC in Arunachal more easily. This will lead to more standoffs. Let me not even talk about jets, navy vessels etc. for now.
It's imperative both factions of fanboys stop bickering over this. It's not cool to demean one institution because they're "police". Everyone on ground knows the seriousness of this & know we have a lot to catch up.
At the same time, it's imperative that the media, politicians and citizens act reasonably. There's no "invasion" or "capture" of Arunachal going on. It's not a one-way street as mainly reported.
The weapons used by the ITBP are 50-years old and modernisation is required, said ITBP D-G Shatrujeet Kapur, who is set to retire on October 31. Stressing on the need to invest and develop drone and counter-drone technology, the ITBP chief said that it may not be possible to face China through traditional methods as it has invested a lot in the modernisation of its weapons and infrastructure.
“Drones are something through which a even a small country can challenge a big country We saw how Ukraine has challenged a superpower like Russia. The war was supposed to be over in few days, but 10,000 to 15,000 Russian soldiers are being killed, they are suffering. Look at Iran, how, without even a Navy, they, with the help of drones, challenged America,” he said.

In light of the naive but factual comments of DG ITBP, do read my article written exactly one month ago.
Take a look!
“Negotiate the boundary with China as if a settlement is possible tomorrow; manage the LAC as if the settlement may take another generation. The first requires diplomacy. The second requires deterrence by denial.”
