❤️ for all my fellow teachers

ALT For a Teacher Yes, you will be tired. You will be tested by their wild hearts. But those hearts are little fires in the darkness. Remember what the gift is. Remember to help a voice begin is a sacred act. Remember no one knows when they've been saved. Listen. Let the world say all is ruined. You know where the changes start, in darkness. Start again with the small things, the smallest things. Breathe. Be open. Keep going. Show them you are listening, in wonder. Gentleness is the next revolution. Help them all to say each other's names. —Joseph Fasano
Clive put women’s soccer on the map and now Michelle French is helping to keep it there…we have some amazing coaches and athletes on the Bluff!
Clive Charles will never be forgotten here on The Bluff. Another wonderful story on his impact and legacy. Long overdue for him to be inducted in the @soccerhof.

Too often we forget to tell those we learn from how much they are appreciated…you always put people 1st and I paid attention…being a servant leader to great teachers and support staff in our schools is an honour. It made every day of 17 years as principal worth it. Thx Sheila.
A surprise visit from a highly respected colleague, an insightful dialogue reflecting past and current practices and a quick catch-up on our families. Thank you @rwhetherington

I was a teacher for (many) years before discovering I really wasn't teaching.
I was talking, assigning, grading.
And I thought I was teaching. Truly.
I wasn't. I didn't start teaching until I learned to respond to each kid's learning.
That is where/when I become a teacher.

Effective formative assessments provide information (feedback) to inform needed adjustments to teaching and learning. Indeed, formative feedback without adjustment is like eating without digesting! Check out this resource on the Formative Assessment Cycle: ascd.org/books/the-formative…

The first step is the hardest part of change. How can you make that first action as small as possible? Once you get movement, everything seems easier. #runthoughts #edchat

Don’t assume that the way things have always been is the best way to do them. Be humble enough to ask the question, “What am I missing?”
