This made my daughter's 18th very special today. Fantastic talent, not just a superb fine artist but also has the nous and wit to do brilliant topical political cartoons and caricatures. Thanks again @GraemeBandeira

We're proud of the lifesaving work our volunteers do in the Channel – we make no apology for it. Those we rescue are vulnerable people in danger & distress. Each of them is someone’s father, mother, son or daughter - every life is precious. This is why we launch:

People sadly refer to this as the ‘NHS’ track and trace system.
But the truth is it is led by Dido Harding and was outsourced to a private company.

Crazy lack of detail on this latest lockdown for Gtr Mcr. No detail on travel, childcare, holidays, appointments etc. It’s possible, I feel, that the government is taking the opportunity to be as far ahead of the second wave as it was as far behind the first.

Sad to hear Jack Charlton has died. A superb footballer, who won the World Cup with England in ’66 & spent his entire playing career with Leeds United. Here’s my musical tribute: the Leeds Utd anthem. @BBCNews @BBCSport @LUFC @BBCLeeds @BBCLookNorth @FAIreland #jackcharlton

I'm 84. I've been in active politics since 1950. I've seen a lot - but I've never seen a government so corrupt and incompetent as this one.

Isn’t this a remarkable — some might say brazen — re-writing of what actually happened? The first “protective ring” was “advice” in February which said (twice) care homes had nothing to worry about. Then old folks were decanted from hospitals to homes without testing ...
"Right from the start we've tried to throw a protective ring around our care homes. We set out our first advice in February... we've made sure care homes have the resources they need" says Health Secretary, Matt Hancock.

We're extremely saddened to learn of the passing of Norman Hunter at the age of 76.
Norman was part of our @FIFAWorldCup-winning squad and won 28 caps for the #ThreeLions. All of our thoughts are with his family, friends and supporters at this time.

Tried to show @BorisJohnson the picture of Jack Williment-Barr. The 4-year-old with suspected pneumonia forced to lie on a pile of coats on the floor of a Leeds hospital.
The PM grabbed my phone and put it in his pocket:

Boris Johnson has been caught out lying (again) about the damaging impact of his Brexit deal.
Johnson has repeatedly said that his deal would mean there are no customs checks between NI and GB, that the UK is kept together as we exit the EU and that it would be good for jobs.

Sacked by Theresa May for lying, brought back to the Cabinet by serial liar Boris Johnson. It’s not hard to work out what ‘attribute’ he values most in his ministers.
