Scouting Notebook📓⏩️ @Newman_Hoops vs. South Kent ‘24 @PCFriarsmbb commit Ryan Mela was a key piece in a big win for The Newman School on Sunday. The future Friar was an offensive engine, using his signature handle, driving feel and tough finishing to open things up for himself and his teammates. He showed a real knack for drawing help on his drives and finding creative ways to hit the dunker spot and cutters. His shot was also hitting well in this one, converting when he got to the FT line and making some spot-ups from beyond the arc. Defensively, he was an effective on-ball defender and a menace in the passing lanes.
