Perplexity Teammate can be used like a world-class chief-of-staff / executive assistant. Instant PMF for that role right away in two days of usage. Calendar management, email follow ups, triaging, coordinating with vendors, daily briefs, meeting preps, strategizing what to work on next: instead of doing these as separate Computer sessions, you just set it up once with your Teammate and have it orchestrate everything.

The median Perplexity employee now gets 7x more agent-hours per week from teammates than in September. And this has been consistently up every single week. 1 in 5 are already at 40+ agent-hours a week, which is basically a full extra workweek.

Today, we're launching Perplexity Teammates.
They are personal agents for work. And change the paradigm from writing prompts in a session to giving high-level goals. Rolling out to Max users on the web today. Native apps (mobile, desktop) coming soon.
P1! Let’s go @LewisHamilton!

NEW: I sat down w/ Perplexity Founder & CEO Aravind Srinivas (@AravSrinivas) on why AI-native SMBs could drive the next American millionaire economic boom.
@perplexity_ai, valued at ~$20B with ~$2B in reported funding, $750M in annualized revenue as of August, seeing 5x YoY revenue growth as it expands from search into autonomous agents.
One example Aravind shared is a single-person company generating $3M in annual revenue while spending over $1M a year on Perplexity Computer.
His thesis is that AI could fundamentally change the economics of building a business. Smaller teams, less capital, higher productivity, & entirely new business models.
At the infrastructure layer, Aravind sees a shift toward local & hybrid inference, with AI agents operating across personal devices and the cloud. As context windows expand and workloads become more personalized, local compute becomes increasingly cost-competitive, while offering greater privacy, control & data sovereignty.
We cover:
› Why SMBs could become a major driver of US GDP growth
› The shift from AI models to agents & recursive economics
› Why Perplexity is betting on your Mac instead of building data centers
› NVIDIA, Apple Silicon, local inference & sovereign AI
› Why writing code is no longer the bottleneck, but problem-solving is

chipping away, pplx-decider-v1.1-27b is #2 on openrouter. more updates ship next week:
- sota results on the reranking task
- faster, more efficient inference
- a smaller variant for even faster/cheaper inference
also, a reminder that this is the best model on text and vision tasks across both closed-source and open-source models. give it a shot!

This morning we announced Amex-curated skills in Perplexity Computer for all U.S. Amex Small Business Card Members.
Great chatting live with @AmexBusiness’ Ro Gutierrez at The Washington Post’s AI Edge Summit about what we’re building together, and looking forward to seeing what small business owners do with it.

Today we’re launching a library of Amex-curated, ready-to-use skills in Perplexity Computer to eligible U.S. @AmexBusiness Small Business Card Members. The skills are pre-built workflows that handle everyday business tasks, like forecasting cash flow or generating marketing campaign.
Small business owners already do the work of whole teams. They can put AI to work by choosing a task in Computer and adding details about their business, without having to write instructions from scratch.

We’re expanding our work with @nvidia to bring fully local AI to Microsoft Windows PCs with RTX GPUs. Unmetered local intelligence on every Windows PC running on NVIDIA hardware and Perplexity harness. Enjoy!
Portable Computer is now available on Windows PCs with @NVIDIA RTX GPUs.
Run the harness, agents, and models locally on your PC.
Work with local files and connected apps without sending tasks to the cloud. Use frontier cloud models when needed.

We're introducing hybrid compute for all users of the Perplexity Mac app.
This will allow Computer to orchestrate local models that can run locally on Mac, particularly for agent steps involving sensitive and private files (eg your bloodwork, tax returns, litigation, etc).
Meet Portable Computer, Perplexity's new local-first agent stack on NVIDIA DGX Spark.
When running locally, Portable Computer offers one-click local inference setup and an optimized agentic experience for DGX Spark.

Today we’re launching Portable Computer on @NVIDIA DGX Spark.
Portable Computer is a fully local version of Perplexity Computer, where the entire runtime: orchestrator LLM, subagent LLM, agent harness all run on your local hardware. No cloud dependency.

In a compute and power-constrained world, a good chunk of agentic inference needs to move to local hardware. A drastic version of that is a fully local agent runtime, where the model (orchestrator and subagents) and the harness run locally. Portable Computer from Perplexity is this. Launching today for @nvidia DGX Spark.

For my first post, I’m sharing a letter @NVIDIA signed on why open models matter.
AI will transform every industry, power every company, and be built by every country.
Open models strengthen safety and cybersecurity, accelerate innovation and diffusion, and enable sovereignty.
The world needs both frontier closed models and frontier open models.
