Politics is the art of the possible, and the Federal Scholarship Tax Credit gives governors a remarkably simple way to expand educational opportunity. As Peter Murphy of @Invest_InEd explains in @WashTimes, Democratic governors @jaredpolis and @GovKathyHochul are demonstrating how the FSTC can transcend traditional political divides. With the federal framework already in place, governors can open the door to new, privately funded scholarships for public and private school students simply by opting in. Murphy highlights Polis's remarks at a @Kennedy_School conference about using these scholarships for tutoring and additional instruction. Major public policy progress doesn't always require years of legislative battles. Sometimes the opportunity is already there just waiting for someone to act. washingtontimes.com/news/202… #SchoolChoice #EducationFreedom #FSTC

Can’t recommend @edchoice media training enough to anyone in the school choice movement.
At the beginning of this month, EdChoice hosted our annual media training and EdChoice Academy. One activity at the Academy is a simulation of passing an education bill. Participants get a crash course in what it takes to work on education policy. edchoice.org/2026-this-is-wh…

School choice is more important than ever, with only 1 in 10 students attending a district that has recovered to pre-pandemic achievement levels. That's according to a new report from @CRPE_edu, authored by @RbnLake and @chelseawaite, and covered by @jonapolitano at @The74. Every school year matters. A child who needs a better educational fit today can't afford to wait until tomorrow. Parents shouldn't have to choose between waiting for change and doing what's best for their children. the74million.org/article/onl… #SchoolChoice #EducationFreedom

The school choice market is delivering more options + stronger outcomes + greater parental freedom. So naturally, politicians want more regulation. @RobertEnlow of @edchoice explains why Milton Friedman had it right. #SchoolChoice educationnext.org/trust-the-…

Defending economic freedom used to mean fighting central planning. Today, it’s fighting your HOA for the right to hand out full-size Snickers on Halloween. "The invisible hand wants full-size Snickers. The HOA wants miniature Tootsie Rolls. Behind every education policy debate, line-item budget, and enrollment statistic is a family trying to find the best path forward for their child. Through the Education Freedom Ambassador Program, we get to bring those stories to the forefront and elevate the real voices shaping education freedom. Looking forward to working alongside Cohort 4 this year! #NHPolitics
Who better to champion education freedom than the families who've experienced its impact firsthand? Last week we welcomed Cohort 4 of our Education Freedom Ambassador Program! Over the coming months, they'll develop their voices & help other NH families. #NHPolitics

Educational opportunity doesn't stop at state lines. In a new @NewHampJournal op-ed, @CSFNational President & CEO @dromfo explores what the Federal Scholarship Tax Credit could mean for families across New England, particularly in neighboring Massachusetts. With almost 1 million Massachusetts students potentially eligible for scholarships, the program represents an opportunity to expand educational resources for children in public, charter, and private schools alike. Here in New Hampshire, we're excited about the possibilities ahead as our state prepares to participate in the new federal program beginning in 2027. At its heart, this is about something that transcends state lines and political differences: helping more children access the educational opportunities they need to thrive. The Overton window doesn't move on its own. What was politically risky when @JebBush championed school choice in 1994 has become mainstream policy in Florida three decades later. James Shuls's new paper is a reminder that yesterday's political long shots can become tomorrow's governing consensus. #schoolchoice #educationfreedom – at West Kennebunk, ME

By bringing New York into the Federal Scholarship Tax Credit program, Hochul took a step only one other Democratic governor has taken. In an era defined by political tribalism, her move is a quiet reminder of what governance should be about. And as a result, thousands of children and families will now have life-changing educational opportunities opened to them. #educationfreedom #schoolchoice #fstc

Massachusetts, the state that helped spark a revolution over taxation, is ironically preparing to leave federal tax-credit dollars on the table. Beginning in 2027, the Federal Scholarship Tax Credit will allow taxpayers to receive a federal tax credit for contributions to eligible Scholarship Granting Organizations. If Massachusetts doesn’t participate, its students won’t benefit. But here’s the irony: Massachusetts taxpayers can still contribute to an eligible SGO in a participating state and claim the credit. So Bay Staters, if Massachusetts doesn’t want those scholarship dollars, send them north. New Hampshire has opted in. And as the only New England state currently participating, we’ll be ready to put those contributions to work creating educational opportunities for New Hampshire children. Massachusetts taxpayers can still claim the credit. The scholarships just might have a New Hampshire address. @PioneerPolicy @edchoice @SchoolChoiceNow @MassFiscal #TaxCredits #EducationOpportunity #MApol #NHpolitics #SchoolChoiceNow

Sometimes a movement comes to reflect the philosophy it champions. That was one of my biggest takeaways from an exceptional week of learning at @edChoice in Indianapolis. What brought together school choice advocates spanning different generations and backgrounds was the uniting belief that students and their needs are different. An education that allows one child to flourish may not be the right fit for another. Perhaps that is part of what gives the education freedom movement its breadth. It brings together people who may disagree on any number of things, but who share one basic conviction: children are not interchangeable. They come with different gifts, needs, circumstances & hopes. Our education system should be broad enough to make room for those differences. @MQ_McShane @RobertEnlow @CooperConway1 @colynritter24 #SchoolChoice #EducationFreedom – at Indianapolis, IN

One thing I appreciate about NH’s EFA policy: a family’s circumstances (and a child’s needs) don’t always fit neatly into the beginning of a school year. For priority families, the door to a better educational fit can still be open midyear. #nhpolitics
The school year is underway, but what if your child’s school isn’t a fit? For some NH children, it may not be too late to make a change. @UnionLeader looks at midyear EFA eligibility & how some families can still apply. unionleader.com/special-sect… #NHPolitics

The economics of school choice are hard to ignore: more choice for parents, more educational options for students & significantly less spending per student than in the traditional public school system. #schoolchoice #educationfreedom
How much do you think is spent per year on each student in your state’s public schools? When the EdChoice researchers asked this in our Fall public opinion tracker, they found that the general public and school parents still greatly underestimate per-student spending in public schools. edchoice.org/research/the-pu…

Sad to see this coming out of Wisconsin, the birthplace of the modern school choice movement. Gov. Tommy Thompson signed the nation’s first private school choice program in Milwaukee in 1990, building on an idea championed nationally by Milton Friedman. And contrary to this claim, the new federal scholarships absolutely does directly benefit public school students. Wisconsin helped lead the school choice movement. Its Governor should be leading again, not misrepresenting what this program actually does. @badgerinstitute @WILawLiberty @WillFlandersWI @PaddyMacMke #SchoolChoice #EducationFreedom #WIpol

Did you know New Hampshire is the only state in New England to opt in to the new Federal Scholarship Tax Credit? That gives Granite State students a real advantage when the program launches in 2027. Individuals from across the country can make qualifying contributions to the New Hampshire Scholarship Granting Organization @CSF_NH, bringing new scholarship dollars into our state to support NH students. For public school students, scholarships can support tutoring, educational therapies and other qualified educational expenses. By opting in, New Hampshire has opened the door to private scholarship funding from donors here at home and across the country. More resources for students & opportunities for families: that’s the New Hampshire Advantage. #NHPolitics #newhampshire #schoolchoice #educationfreedom
