Trump is trying to block certification of Alaska's Senate election if the Republican loses.
This is his authoritarianism in real time.
This is why we must do everything we can to win this election, defend democracy and create a government that works for all, not just the 1%.

This disturbing action is yet another effort by the President to seed the ground to challenge the results after the midterms.
That Blanche and DOJ appointees would participate in it, however, shows how complicit the Justice Department now is in election interference efforts.
In December 2020, DOJ rejected Trump’s plea to “just say the election was corrupt and leave the rest to me and the Republican congressmen.”
Now DOJ is fully on board.

Unbelievable. The most corrupt president in U.S. history created a “fraud whistleblower program.”
Ok. Let’s blow the whistle. Trump has:
Illegally accepted a $400 million plane from Qatar
Got $1.4 billion richer from crypto scams
Used taxpayer money for TV ads
That’s fraud!

That’s great, Mr. Trump. I’d like to report a theft.
A man inside our government illegally spent nearly $22 million in taxpayer dollars on bogus campaign ads praising himself. He now resides on 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.
Taxpayers want to know when they’ll get their money back.
Trump announces "fraud whistleblower incentive program" -- "All Americans will now be able to go to fraud dot gov and report cases of corruption and theft of taxpayer dollars in their communities ... if you turn somebody in and you find $1 billion, we're giving a commission of 1%. That's a lot of money"

It is a basic principle of American democracy that the government can’t selectively target individuals simply because of their political beliefs or what they say. But that’s exactly what the Trump Administration is doing to Congresswoman Ilhan Omar of Minnesota.
To understand why this is so appalling, it’s important to know the facts. Congresswoman Omar came to this country with her father when she was 12 years old. Five years later, her father became a naturalized citizen. If Ilhan had been 18 at the time, she would have had to apply for citizenship separately. But because she was 17, she became a naturalized citizen automatically.
Congresswoman Omar went on to graduate from college, work as a community organizer, become the first Somali-American legislator elected to public office in the U.S., and win a seat in Congress. There, she has been one of the Trump Administration’s fiercest critics, which has led the president to repeatedly single her out as someone who he believes does not belong in this country.
Now the Administration is actively trying to deport Congresswoman Omar, seemingly based solely on the unsubstantiated theory that she was actually 18 when her father was naturalized, and therefore is not a citizen. Federal agents have raided her home, confiscated personal records, and seized her phone — all to try and uncover a nonexistent smoking gun from 20 years ago that will somehow make their case.
Think about that. The full weight of the federal government is being brought down on a law-abiding elected official because she has dared to criticize the president. And it’s not the first time this has happened. Under President Trump, the Justice Department has repeatedly gone after those he considers his political enemies — from the Attorney General of New York, to the former head of the FBI, to members of the Federal Reserve.
In those cases, the prosecutions either stalled or were dismissed for having no basis in law, and the same is likely to happen in this case. But not before Congresswoman Omar’s life has been turned upside down, her legal bills have piled up, and she’s been forced to spend time fighting unsubstantiated charges instead of serving the people of Minnesota.
The fact that any president, or any administration, is willing to engage in such transparent efforts to intimidate someone should outrage all Americans, regardless of how they feel about Congresswoman Omar’s political views. Because if this becomes the new normal, there’s no reason to believe it will stop with her — or that future presidents, in either party, won’t do the same.

Trump says our children go to school and "come home with a sex change" when in reality our children go to school and come home in a body bag because Republicans think everyone should own an AR-15
Just go fucking vote.
And get ten of your family and friends to vote.
trump and GOP are going to try to suppress your vote. Find a way around it and overcome the obstacles they put before you.
That’s how you stick it to the man.
That’s how America wins.
November is coming.

This morning, the federal government turned the full force of the Department of Homeland Security against a sitting member of Congress for the offense of disagreeing with the White House.
The path to citizenship should not be weaponized against anyone, including Rep. Ilhan Omar, a naturalized American who swore an oath to this country — the same one that I took.
The promise of citizenship should not be contingent on someone agreeing with the federal government.

Any single individual having this amount of influence in our elections does not lead to a healthy democracy. It doesn’t matter if they are supporting Democrats or Republicans. We need a serious effort at campaign finance reform and have to overturn the Citizens United decision.

For the first time in more than two decades, the U.S. has declined to invite international election observers from the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe to witness its midterm elections next month.
The move comes as the Trump administration is scrutinizing dozens of nonprofit voter-registration groups and weighing the deployment undercover agents to investigate organizations suspected of helping noncitizens register to vote — even though data shows that noncitizen voting occurs too rarely to affect election outcomes.

I can’t believe we have to say this, but the annihilation of two major American cities — more than 5 million people — is not a “small price to pay” for Trump's illegal war.
Neither are the 19 American troops and 3,000+ Iranians who lost their lives.
Our president is unhinged.

They don't care about you, or the country.
Vote Democratic this November. The future of America depends on it.
