Speaking of Oreo, I've noticed several mudsharks in the restaurant during my last couple visits They are a health hazard and it's very important to spray and seal building cracks to prevent their entry, especially as the weather turns colder (they like the warmth)

Hacked my own VPS last night with abliterated models. Took less than 10 minutes and $5 in inference, and got root level access to the box and all credentials. Lots to process and share soon, but feeling deeply in touch with my eastern european roots this morning...

This is similar to self-replicating DNA btw Punch cards => Compiler automated translating the output but required manual input Programming => AI automating the input, now a full iterative loop system
We will all be learning in coming weeks & months, that most human-made software: ▫️ Was really slow ▫️ Had many security vulnerabilities ▫️ Was under-specified and incorrect AI will rewrite it all. Many times. It will make it fast, cost-efficient, and secure. It will think about failure modes we couldn't wrap our heads around. It will prove, formally verify, load test, harden. It will turn memory-unsafe foundations into robust, optimized ones. If you ask, it'll thoroughly document it, teach you about it, make diagrams, animations, and slide decks. In many ways, we are witnessing the true birth of software engineering.

The typical unicorn founder starts the company at 34. My team at the Stanford GSB Venture Capital Initiative and I estimated the age at founding of 3,586 founders of 1,540 US VC-backed unicorns. Three out of every four founders started between 25 and 45. The median age at founding is 34, and the average is almost 36.

HEADS UP re: RAILWAY INCIDENT: Josh @joshmanders needs some help with incident response so I am posting this on his behalf and with his permission asking for those of you in my orbit who are qualified, and many of you are, to reach out to him with serious intent about helping him with the recent Railway incident. Triage. Log analysis. Correlation. Josh will give you the specifics. And no trolling or I'm going to lose my shit on you. This is a serious tweet and inquiry. Make me proud. P. S. Retweet far and wide please.

I don't want our infra providers vibe coding, generating giant PR's, skipping reviews, the current meta We pay for uptime, service, responsible adults doing things We want our customers to expect the same from us, so we move slower to do things well The goal is earned trust

Yes, AND ALSO 26.04 is not in us-east-1 (released April 2026) While I don't advocate for us-east-1, it is "the" region and many customers are on it, so WTF indeed It's in a handful of other regions but this is "support"? cloud-images.ubuntu.com/loca…
So @Ubuntu still hasn't patched this open hole on any Ubuntu server on the public internet that lets anyone take it over We might just have to switch all our servers over to Debian in this new post-AGI time of rapid cybersecurity hacks which require just as rapid patching Slowpokes will be left behind chalmovsky.com/posts/wtf-ubu…
