Two 19-year-old Tulane University sophomores discovered a previously unknown muscle attachment deep in the human hip during a routine cadaver lab session — a find so unusual that even their professor, a co-editor-in-chief of Gray's Anatomy, couldn't identify it.
Dominic Roy and Cooper Bruce had been assigned to measure the fusion point between two well-known hip muscles when Roy spotted something unfamiliar on the other side of the iliac fascia.
After an exhaustive search through medical literature and textbooks turned up nothing, the team confirmed it was a new anatomical discovery. The findings were recently published in the journal Clinical Anatomy.

Writing this in my personal capacity, but I have been flying these types of aircraft for more than 20 years, with over 8,000 hours, and have reasonable familiarity with how the charter world operates. I feel compelled to post after seeing commentary about the Lear 60 crash, from missile strikes to DEI to critiquing this poor woman’s final radio calls.
That last part is what I find most troubling. She was the second-in-command (SIC), and while she was empowered to point out mistakes as part of good crew resource management, she was doing her job, communicating with ATC right to the end in a terrifying situation. She likely knew before many of those calls that she was going to die. I have heard final calls from friends, from military pilots with thousands of hours in fighter aircraft, and they are just as heartbreaking because they know the end is approaching.
I understand the public interest given the footage and audio. But you do not know the aircraft’s maintenance history, whether there was a structural failure, if any failure was induced by turbulence, overspeed, or overcontrol, or everything happening in that cockpit. I am sure weather will be part of the investigation, but beyond that, it is speculation. The charter industry routinely hires commercial pilots very early in their careers to gain experience alongside an ATP-qualified captain before they move up to the airlines. She would still have the appropriate training, qualifications, and checkouts by an FAA examiner or designee.
Let people investigate, learn, and share the facts. Be respectful to those who perished and the families who carry their memories. God bless them and their loved ones.
Visited the grave of Don Rich, who was the indispensable "right arm," musical architect, and creative soulmate of Buck Owens. While Owens had the vision and the raw talent, Rich was the engine that powered the legendary Bakersfield Sound.
The attached video is of Buck and Don doing their two man/one guitar routine and entertaining the good people of Norway

At the peak of their fame, Buck Owens & Merle Haggard chose to stay in Bakersfield, rejecting Nashville to build a musical legacy in California's Central Valley. Their fierce loyalty to their home cemented the city as the capital of the driving, hard-edged Bakersfield Sound.
Buck and Merle were very different, and had a great deal of respect for each other. Merle did great impressions, including a very solid impression of Buck. In this video Buck sings the harmony part of Hag’s impression of him. Worth the watch!!

As we come together for Sunday Night Football tonight, we take a moment to remember actress and humanitarian Susan Saint James.
To the wrestling world, "Adorable" Adrian Adonis was a fierce New York street fighter turned flamboyant WWF icon. But away from the bright lights and the ring, he chose Bakersfield, as the peaceful home base to raise his family.
I took the images in the attached post. The first photo shows Buck’s house, where he lived in the 70s. It’s a five minute drive to his studio. It has a view of oil rigs as far as the eye can see.
The second photo is Hag’s house during his "Okie from Muskogee" era.
