Again, we say goodbye to another legend today at 66 🕊️🎙️ One of the most recognizable voices in dubbing has gone silent. Veteran voice actor Ettore Zuim has passed away at 66, leaving behind more than four decades of work across animation, anime, movies, television and video games. For Disney fans, he became especially memorable as the Brazilian Portuguese voice of Hercules in the 1997 animated classic and David Kawena in Lilo & Stitch. DC fans also knew him as Bruce Wayne / Batman, dubbing Christian Bale throughout The Dark Knight trilogy and portraying the character in games including Batman: Arkham Origins, Arkham Knight and Injustice: Gods Among Us. His incredible list of characters also included: • Hercules — Hercules • Bruce Wayne / Batman — The Dark Knight Trilogy / Batman: Arkham / Injustice • Dracule Mihawk — One Piece • Mugen — Samurai Champloo • Prince Charming — Shrek 2 / Shrek the Third • Nigel Uno / Numbuh 1 — Codename: Kids Next Door • Jon Arbuckle — Garfield • Yakko Warner — Animaniacs • Heiter — Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End • Eric the Cavalier — Dungeons & Dragons • Fire Lord Sozin — Avatar: The Last Airbender • Noah — Total Drama • Hotstreak — Static Shock • Shen — League of Legends • David Kawena — Lilo & Stitch From Disney and DC to One Piece, Frieren, Shrek and gaming, Ettore Zuim helped make characters from around the world feel at home to generations of Portuguese-speaking fans. Rest in peace, Ettore Zuim. The characters will remain, and so will the voice that made so many of them unforgettable. 🕯️

Should doctors reject new knowledge, or embrace it? Most doctors still believe the myths around COVID. My presentation gives you the evidence you need to embrace new knowledge and improve patient outcomes.

As a physician living with Long COVID, this post makes me deeply ashamed of our profession. I've never seen such open contempt for patients and their advocates. If a funded researcher comfortably calls sufferers "repulsive" - among other things- on a public feed, imagine what is being said behind closed doors. It’s terrifying, sickening, and completely destroys whatever patient trust was left. Where do we go from here?
In one response you’ve exemplified what I and hundreds others have been trying to tell you and the PAIS cabal. I don’t want you representing me. I’m embarrassed, this is shameful. You’re humiliating yourselves and LongCOVID every time you tweet. I want nothing to do with you.

I sat next to a retired school nurse on my ✈️ flight home this week. I asked her Qs about air quality: - what role school nurses have to advocate - common reasons a kid visits the school nurse By the time our convo had ended, she had grabbed a 😷 from her bag & put it on.

There's something serious that people don't really talk about much. It's established that one of the lingering effects of covid infections is to make you more vulnerable to infection by other pathogens, but there's another problem too:

I've been seeing posts from people who can't believe they got COVID in 2026. And if they are surprised by this, they are going to be even more surprised when they learn what these infections are doing to our insides.

I haven’t seen this many 😷s on a plane in a looooong time. Feeling encouraged. (…and by “this many” I mean like over half a dozen)

This is exactly what some of us were worried about. People who died of unrelated causes after a mild Covid infection still harbored the virus. “Learning to live with COVID” basically means just that, quite literally. Significant implications for personal & public health here.
A*STAR researchers studied tissues from 4 people who died of unrelated causes more than 250 days after mild COVID. SARS-CoV-2 nucleocapsid antigen remained in lung, heart and brain, alongside persistent inflammation and immune disruption. frontiersin.org/journals/imm…

I know that right now you’re probably focusing on other health related news, but according to the wastewater tracking data Covid levels are rising again, which is a reminder (an unfortunate reminder) that cyclospora is not the only bad shit happening.

One week of school and the wave is already here. It has swallowed my timelines whole.
Kids collapsed on couches. Hospital beds filling with little ones on oxygen.
Entire families flattened while the feed keeps calling it “back to school germs.” It is Covid.
It has always been Covid this time of year. The only thing that changes is how hard people pretend it isn’t.

Oh yay first day of school and we already got the classic “migraine” diagnosis at the doctors office after the kid spent the day vomiting and sick.🤦‍♀️ Bet those Covid tests came back negative just like they do for most of us (or they skipped them entirely). Clear by morning means send him right back in so the whole school can enjoy the new strain. Summer wave loading… schools about to become the hottest nightclub in town. It’s Covid. Always has been.

Can mild COVID-19 leave a biological footprint that persists for years? ➡️ In a rare postmortem study of individuals who had only mild COVID-19 and died >250 days later from unrelated causes, researchers detected persistent SARS-CoV-2 nucleocapsid antigen together with organ-specific immune abnormalities. ➡️ The lungs and heart exhibited ongoing, self-sustaining inflammation, while the brain showed vascular dysfunction and disrupted neuroimmune homeostasis. 1/
